The Foundation of City College of San Francisco provides financial support to the students and the programs of City College of San Francisco. The Foundation seeks outright and deferred gifts, gifts-in-kind and the services of individuals to accomplish its mission.

The primary purposes of the Foundation are:
- To provide scholarships to students in the form of grants and awards (click here to reach the Scholarship Office.)
- To build and implement endowment funds in support of students needs and college programs.
- To enlist continuing financial support for the college within the community.
- To support the institutional advancement activities at City College of San Francisco.

Foundation Board, 2006 - 2007

Eunice Azzani, President of the Board
Managing Director, Korn/Ferry International

Eunice became involved in 2001 because City College of San Francisco is such a compelling organization doing great work to change lives.
Her dream is to have the Foundation continue its dramatic growth and support of the College.

Dr. Philip R. Day, Jr.
Chancellor, City College of San Francisco

Debra Dooley, Events Committee Chair

Debra has been involved for over three years. She founded the Foundation Auxiliary, which now has seventy members. They work to spread the word about the College and to raise funds. Her dream is to establish an annual literacy event to support the College’s basic skills programs.

Kay Dryden, Treasurer
Legal Expert

Kay has been involved for four years. She joined because she was impressed with the transformative nature of the College and the number of students it serves. Her dream is to look at strategic opportunities and to develop the infrastructure to sustain substantial contributions, including the endowment.

 

Elsie Fletcher, Finance Committee Chair
Director of Client Services, Tukman Capital Management Company

Elsie has been involved for four years. She chairs the Finance Committee. Her dream is to increase the financial returns. The aggregate return for the 36 months ending December 31st, 2005 is 18.5%.

Peter Goldstein
Vice Chancellor, City College of San Francisco

Peter is the Vice Chancellor of Finance for the College. He is very impressed with all that has been accomplished.

Vicki Kahn
Community Organizer

Vicki believes in City College. She joined the Board with the anticipation of working with a dynamic group of people with a shared vision to increase the community presence of City College through fundraising and public relations.

Haig Mardikian, Audit Committee Chair
Mardikian Enterprises; Real Estate Development

Haig has been involved with the Foundation for three years. In the 1970's, as President of the Hotel and Restaurant Association, he became involved with the Culinary and Hospitality Department. He believes the College has a remarkable mission. His dream is to get San Francisco as a whole to know and support the College.

Lynda Moerschbaecher, Esq.
Legal Expert, Planned Giving

Lynda has been involved for three years.  She is impressed by “seeing the stories” and by the numbers of students. Her dream is to instill an ever-higher level of pride in the faculty because that will spread to the students and then to the community.

Madeline Mueller, Faculty Representative
Chair, Music Department, City College of San Francisco

Madeline is the faculty representative to the Foundation and is active with many foundations. She has served as the institutional expert on City College and its operation, was actively involved in changing and improving the bylaws of the Foundation and is passionately devoted to the creation of the Center for the Performing Arts.

Walter Newman, Nominating Committee Chair
WSN Enterprises

Walter has been involved for four years. The product of public education, he loves the City and he tries to do good works for the City. He believes that City College is one of the City’s best-kept secrets, a “hidden jewel.” His dream is to get the City more involved with the College bringing support for the Chancellor and the faculty. This will take effort, money and the new student database, which was recently installed at the College with Foundation support..

Mary Robinson
Volunteer

Mary, an active community volunteer and Board member for 40 years, assigns the highest importance to education. She sees the College as a vital resource for the City, one that needs, and deserves, a higher profile to achieve its full potential.

Joanne has been helpful to the College in Wells Fargo’s supporting the future of Math and Science Teachers in San Francisco and underwriting for the annual Basic Skills Lunch.

Dawn Vroegop

Dawn has been a member of the Finance Committee since its inception. Her commitment to the College has now extended to serving on the Board.
