City College offers placement testing in ESL and Math for students from March 2008 through August 2008 for the Fall Semester.   ESL Students may take the test in either a   Computerized or  Paper/Pencil format.  No appointment is necessary.  Students must arrive fifteen minutes early in order to be seated, and must bring picture identification (e.g. driver's license, passport or CA I.D.) in order to take the test.

Bilingual Orientations in Chinese (中英雙語入學講座時間) will be held on Thursday, July 17 from 10:00am - 1:30pm in the Student Union Rm 208, and on Monday, July 28 from 12:00pm - 3:30pm all in Conlan Hall Room 101.

Chemistry Placement Testing - FALL 2008

Students who wish to enroll in Chemistry 101A or 103A are required to meet

1.)  one of the following Chemistry prerequisites:

§         Completion of CHEM 40 or 50 at CCSF with a C or better;  or
§         Score of 3 or better on the Advanced Placement Exam in chemistry;  or
§         Placement into CHEM 101A or 103A through the Chemistry Diagnostic Placement Exam.

and

2.)  one of the following Math prerequisites:

§         Completion of MATH 860 (or proof of MATH 860 skills) or
§         Placement into any course higher than MATH 860

The Chemistry Diagnostic Placement Exam will be administered on the following dates:
Note:  Students may take the Chemistry Placement Test only once per Chemistry Testing cycle.

Future Chemistry test dates will be posted.

No appointment is necessary for the test, but seating is limited.  Arrive ten minutes early in order to be seated.  Late comers will not be admitted.  Students must bring photo identification (e.g. driver’s license, passport or CA I.D.).  If you do not present a photo I.D. at the end of the testing session, your test will be voided.  If you have questions about the Chemistry Placement Exam, please call the Chemistry Dept. Office at 239-3377.
