Mosaic Scholarship

DEADLINE: FERBRUARY 8, 2013

The Scholarship Office is pleased to announce a scholarship opportunity for students in Basic Skills courses. The $2,000 award, for books, supplies, transportation, childcare, and other college-related necessities, will be paid over four (4) semesters at $500 each semester to students who continue to meet the eligibility requirements. The scholarship is paid in one installment each semester.

Eligibility

1.    Currently participating in one of the following programs:
●   African American Scholastic Programs
●   Asian Pacific American Student Success
●   Guardian Scholars Program
●   Latino Services Network
●   Tulay

2.    Maintain a minimum of nine (9) credit units.
3.    Completed at least one Basic Skills course. (Check Course Listing with your counselor.)
4.    Be enrolled in one Basic Skills class each semester the award is given.
5.    Maintain a Term and Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.
6.    Students may participate in only one of the following scholarship programs: The Mosaic Scholars Program, College Readiness Program or the CalWORKS Basic Skills Program.

Renewable eligibility based on the following requirements.

1.    Must attend two appointments with a program counselor during each semester when scholarship funds are being awarded.
2.    Have an updated counselor-prepared or electronic education plan every semester.
3.    Participate in at least one academic enrichment session designated by your counselor each semester.

APASS Scholarship

Deadline: March 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.

 

Award: Two $500 scholarships will be given for students in the APASS program.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Currently involved in the Asian Pacific American Student Success (APASS) Program and be enrolled in a credit course
  • Must currently have been on academic or progress probation in any of the semester(s) at CCSF
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or better
  • Show progress in academic courses at CCSF
  • Completed 15 units
  • California resident
  • Have financial need

Application must include the following attachments:

  • Obtain two letters of recommendation
  • Write a two page personal statement (please follow format in the instruction on page 2 of application)
  • Submit a copy of your unofficial transcript(s) and courses in progress

APIASF Scholarship

To be eligible, you must meet all 4 criteria:

  • Be of A/PI ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census. (http://www.census.gov/population/race/about)
  • Be a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the U.S. or a citizen of the Freely Associated States.
  • Be enrolled full-time (12 units) at CCSF in Fall 2012 & Spring 2013 semesters.  Also, intend to obtain an A.A./A.S. and/or B.A./B.S. degree.
    NOTE:  a maximum of 6 units can be online courses at CCSF.
  • Apply for federal financial aid via the FAFSA application at http:www.fafsa.edu.gov
    NOTE:  receiving financial aid is not a requirement for this application.
