City College has established prerequisites and corequisites to ensure that students have the skill level necessary to succeed in a course.  A student who wishes to challenge a prerequisite or corequisite should file a Petition to Challenge a Prerequisite or Corequisite prior to enrolling in the course.

To challenge a prerequisite, submit a Petition to Challenge a Prerequisite form (and supporting documentation) to the department of the target course.  If the challenge is approved, a copy of the decision must be submitted to the Office of Matriculation to allow enrollment in the course.
