Welcome to the Alice Statler Library
The Alice Statler Library was established by the Culinary Arts & Hospitality Studies (formerly named Hotel and Restaurant) department alumni with matching funds from the Statler Foundation. Alice, dedicated to educating hotel and restaurant workers, was the widow of the late Ellsworth Statler, recognized as “the father of the American hotel industry.” The library supports the curriculum of City College’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality Studies department as well as the information and research need of students, chefs and hospitality industry professionals from around the Bay Area and beyond.
