The TLC provides training and support for the CCSF institutional website (CMS).

The Training Calendar includes sessions for new users, or those needing a refresher, and special sessions for posting and linking to documents (may be useful for SLOs).There is a link to the pre-registration sign-up on the same page.

You really know how to do what you need to do, but...you've forgotten the steps, the specifics. Here's a really short PDF to help refresh your memory and tell you where you can go for more detailed help.

In the Accelerated WebCred training, you use a template with links in the righ-hand column. You need to direct some of these to locations that are specific to your department. Here's how to do it.

If you are responsible for bringing the site for a department, project or campus over from another platform, it helps to vet your old content. Also, because the new system divides all content into separate components, you can't cut and paste whole pages. Here is some help in understanding how to deal with these issues.

  Fill-in-the-blanks pages to print out and fill in with your material. An aid for helping you think about the pages you need in your new site.
• Preparing Content for the CMS
  The CMS has a set font, font size, color, etc. When you copy text directly from a document or web site, it contains invisible style codes that may conflict with the CMS. To avoid problems, you are advised to copy to a text editor like Notepad or TextEdit and then copy from there to the CMS. This document tells you how, step-by-step.

  How to think about updating your content: Get rid of the Redundant, Out-of-date and Trivial content.

• How to use the most common components-QuickStart: A step-by-step guide, with user tips, to the components you'll use most often.

  A very brief listing of components and their uses.
  
• Component User Guide
  A reference document: It outlines where components are allowed with basic information on usage. Most useful: It gives the required dimensions of all images in all image components. It's long, so looking at it online is more practical than printing it out.

Activating is the process of publishing your pages or DAM content to the Web. Most people publish by asking their CMS supervisor to Activate their content. The supervisor will evaluate content and decide to send it to the Web-or not.

When you add a new page the first thing you have to do is pick a template. This is an important decision! The template you choose determines the look of your page: the number of columns, whether you must include a top banner picture. The Template Cheatsheet pdf provides more information about templates in general and on the specific template choices.
