Some Classified Employees are covered by California State Disability Insurance, (SDI). As of July 1, 2004 SDI provides coverage for employees taking time off to provide for immediate family members including domestic partners and bonding with a new minor child. It is important to note that the claim form must be provided directly to the State of California Employment Development Department (EDD) for evaluation for benefits. Claim forms are available at the CCSF Human Resources Department. The employee must also seek approval for time off from CCSF by using a Leave Request Form.
