Oral Interpretation Overview

Welcome to the CCSF Oral Interpretation Events Guide for inter-collegiate forensics. If you’re interested in competing in Prose, Poetry, Drama or Program Interpretation, this guide will help you 1) identify competitive literature, 2) abridge literature to fit time limit and satisfy dramatic arc, 3) analyze literature to discover possible interpretations of a text (ie: character’s thoughts, motives, feelings), 4) develop realistic and nuanced characters using voice and body, 5) craft introductions that explain interpretation and posit an argument/observation, and 6) practice for the sake of consistency and exploration.
