Early Alert Faculty Resources
Early Alert Referral System
Early Alert is designed to promote academic persistence, retention and success by intervening early in the semester for students who are struggling. Identification and referral of at-risk students in the first weeks of the semester may help them connect with services that can support their academic needs, and at times their personal needs as well.
Faculty are requested to identify struggling students - those who do not come to class with supplies, to have tardiness and attendance issues, who perform poorly on diagnostics, or who seem to not perform to ability - and talk with students. Early Alert is second means of communication about performance in your class.
The Early Alert success counselor will talk with the student about time management, prioritizing, making plans and taking action, and as well refer them to any number of campus resources. Our students are often not aware of help available to them outside the classroom. Early Alert referral can often ensure that a student will receive support and encouragement to complete and succeed in not only your class, but college.

Please feel free to refer your students directly to the persistence and retention movies. or to assign them or show them in your classes
