Professor Blair’s professional and educational focus is on narrative storytelling. She has won numerous awards on the film festival circuit for writing and directing in the short narrative category. Her lastest film, The Queen of Beechwood Drive, premiered at the Women in Film Festival in Vancouver, BC in 2009. She is currently writing her second feature script, The Return of Roxy Toxic.
Professor Blair’s educational goal is to provide students with the best possible instruction and mentorship so that they may discover their true potential as filmmakers while enjoying the challenging process. Since her primary focus is narrative, Prof. Blair has developed unique teaching methods that emphasize technical expertise as well as critical methodology. She has synthesized the very best experiences from film schools, film productions, film forums and acting workshops to present students with a comprehensive approach to narrative.
Prof. Blair had served on numerous jury panels in the Bay Area, including the San Francisco International Film Festival, Film Arts Festival and Mill Valley International Film Festival. She has worked as Bay Area Script Consultant and was a former co-owner of a Bay Area production studio.
Awarded nominations for Who's Who Among America Teachers in 2000 and 2005.
In her leisure time, Ms. Blair enjoys discovering new and interesting cultural gems hidden everywhere in San Francisco.
