In our department we have only one full-time faculty member -- the department chair. All other faculty are part-time. There are 18 of them.
For each course we offer, we have designated a lead faculty member who is in charge of documenting assessment methods, plans, etc. Those lead faculty members may likely rotate responsibilities.
Department Chair has provided template for course surveys. Faculty customize it and then present to their class at end of semester. The data are reviewed by each faculty member to consider improvements. And the department plans to conduct future discussion and analysis of these data during department meetings.
Noncredit classes -- 100%. So no assignments turned in or exams.
Assessments combine two primary methods of data collection:
- direct observation of in-class performance
- end-of-semester student surveys
