The HIV/STI Prevention Studies Office is part of the Health Education Department.
Our goal is to provide quality education and career training in addition to HIV/STI prevention programming and activities using a peer education model dedicated to linking learning with action. Harm Reduction and social justice education form the foundation for our classes, programs and activities.
We have been serving the CCSF campus community and beyond through community partnerships to deliver prevention activities, services, and advocacy since the mid 1980’s.
The HIV/STI Prevention Education Program in addition to offering certification and classes, also operates the Link Center: Linking Learning and Action (a peer resource center). Please click on Link Center below (or in the left navigational menu) for more information.
Classes and Certificates in HIV/STI Prevention Education. Our classes and certificate programs are designed to prepare students to work in entry level public health social service settings with a focus on HIV/STI prevention.
The Linking Learning and Action Center -- LINK CENTER -- has free safer sex supplies, Harm Reduction information, HIV, AIDS, STI, HEP C resources and referrals, meeting space and computers for student use, and houses the Gender Diversity Project and the Drug and Alcohol Studies program libraries. The LINK CENTER is also the home of Community Leadership Training, Gender Diversity Project, Project Safe, Full Circle, Healing for Change, Waypass and the Peer Care Management program.
