African-American Scholastic Program/High School College

Program Description:  In partnership with San Francisco Unified School District, the AASP provide high school students with the opportunity to earn high school credits to complete high school graduation requirements

Target Audience:  All high school juniors (11th grade) and seniors (12th grade) are eligible to apply for City College of San Francisco (AASP) high school Transitional Studies classes.

Child Development and Family Studies Department

Program Description:
CCSF child development courses offered to high school students via CTE and ROP and specialized courses offered for SFUSD ECE-K-12 future teachers. Paid summer internships to students in the future teacher pathway at Abraham Lincoln and Thurgood Marshall High Schools.  Summer Conference for suture teachers, including high school students.

Target Audience:
Courses for high school students, CDEV courses offered at CCSF and SFUSD site locations.

Concurrent Enrollment Program

Program Description:
High school students have the opportunity to enroll in college-level courses.  The high school determines whether or not student will receive high school credit for taking college credit courses.

Target Audience:
Open to any and all currently enrolled High School student, including home-schooled students, who has completed 120 High School credits and have a minimum G.P.A. of 2.0

Expect Respect SF

Program Description:  Trains high school peer educators to team up with college peer educators in delivering a coherent, consistent, comprehensive message about interpersonal violence prevention and healthy relationship promotion through workshops at their high schools.  Our program and community collaborative delivers presentations in all 16 SFUSD high schools.

Target Audience:  Open to any student from the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD).

Gateway To College

Program Description:
The program gives students the opportunity to earn a high school diploma while earning college credits and achieving college success. Students simultaneously accumulate high school and college credits, earning their high school diploma while progressing toward an associate degree or certificate.  For more information, visit our website.

Target Audience:
San Francisco residents who have dropped out of school or are at risk of doing so, and are in the 16-20 year old range.

Guardian Scholars Program

Program Description:
The Summer Academy is a six-week dual enrollment program desgned to prepare current and former foster youth students for a smooth transition from high school to college.  Dual-enrollment allows students to earn high school credits while earning college credits at the same time. This program provides free tuition, meals, books, supplies, and transportation passes.

Target Audience:
Open to any current and former foster youth in the 11th and 12th grades and entering college freshman.

Health Care Technology

Program Description:  Students are simultaneously-enrolled in high school and at CCSF for taking the same class.

  • Classes for Medical Terminology and EMT are:
    • CCSF: EMT 101A, EMT 101B, HIT 50A
    • SFUSD: SIN 9880
  • Textbooks are funded by Tech Prep 

Target Audience:  Open to any high school student. Classes in EMT and HIT are taught at Galileo High School.

Project 31: Public School Special Education Students

Program Description:
Project 31 welcomes special education high school students ages 18-22.  Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), transition planning from school to adult life begins during high school.  IDEA is intended to prepare students to make the transition from the world of high school to the world of adulthood.

Target Audience:
SFUSD special education students ages 18-22.  All high schools are targeted.
