RECOMMENDATION: That the Board of Trustees authorizes the submittal of the

Show Cause and Closure Reports and the SLO Report.

B

On September 27, 2012, the Board of Trustees directed the Chancellor to propose a new administrative structure that reflects the Accreditation Commission and FCMAT recommendations including a structure that has academic integrity and an increase in administrative instructional oversight and accountability. The proposed administrative reorganization of the Academic Affairs Division was adopted by the Board adopted on October 25, 2012; and, the proposed administrative reorganization of the Student Services Division was adopted on December 13, 2012.

Pursuant to Education Code section 72411, for administrators who are hired by appointment or contract for a term of one year, failure to provide notice that they “may not be reemployed” by March 15 effectuates automatic renewal of their current contract with the same duration and terms as their current contract/appointment.

Therefore, this item has been placed on the agenda to notify the Board that the following administrators are impacted by the reorganization in the Academic Affairs and Student Services Divisions:

Academic Affairs:
Director/Articulation Officer
Dean, Mission Center
Dean, Curriculum/Tenure Review/Faculty Evaluation
Interim Dean, Southeast and Evans Centers
Dean, School of Behavioral and Social Sciences
Dean, School of Liberal Arts
Dean, Downtown Center and School of Business
Dean, John Adams Center and School of Health and Physical Education
Dean, Civic Center
Associate Vice Chancellor, International Education
Associate Vice Chancellor, Workforce and Economic Development
Dean Library and Learning Resources
Interim Dean, Faculty Support Services and Course/Room Scheduling
Dean, Chinatown/North Beach Center and School of International Education and ESL

Student Services:
Director, Student Advocacy, Rights and Responsibilities

Dean, Student Affairs
Associate Dean, Matriculation and Enrollment
Associate Dean, Registration and Records (NonCredit)
Dean, Registration and Records (Registrar)
Dean, Student Support Services
Interim Dean, Financial Aid
Associate Dean, Student Activities

RECOMMENDATION: The Board authorizes the Chancellor to issue March 15 notices of nonrenewal for administrative positions in the Academic Affairs and Student Services Divisions.
