Student Success Stories

Ulises With His Statue

As part of our advocacy on behalf of the California community colleges, we are asking you to share your story of how the community colleges changed your life for the better. Whether you are a transfer student, a reentry worker, a second chance student, an immigrant, or an older adult with a hearing loss—whatever your story is, we want to know why you needed a community college to open the door to the next stage of your life.

The State of California is facing a tremendous budget crisis, and we need to make our case as to why the community colleges are a good investment. We believe we can best do that by putting a face on all of you who are, will be, or have been a community college student. So, please, share your story and your face. We hope to keep the doors open for all students to an affordable, high quality, accessible college education.

Please write no more than 250 words explaining why you went to a community college, what you took (in general terms), how it changed your life, and what you are doing now.

Please fill out this form and attach your photo so that we can personalize what the proposed budget cuts are doing to our students. Then e-mail the filled out form and with photo to lsmith@ccsf.edu.

Here is an example story.
