Academic Senate

The CCSF Academic Senate comprises all classroom faculty, counseling faculty, faculty librarians, and health service profession faculty employed by the San Francisco Community College District.

We help inform the policy decisions at our College in consultation with these other members of the CCSF community:

• Associated Students
• Classified Senate
• Administration
• Board of Trustees

Shared Governance provides all college constituencies with a voice in the decision making processes at the college.  Representation from all parts of the college is very important.  We are stronger and better when we work together.

Currently, faculty are participating in Shared Governance at higher levels than in many years.  All faculty are invited to participate and we want to especially encourage participation from noncredit and non-Ocean campus faculty.  Your perspective is important; we cannot make the best decisions to serve our community without your input.

To be appointed to a Shared Governance committee, faculty must request it through the Academic Senate Executive Council.  Requesting is easy:

1. Check current  vacancies

2. Complete an interest form

3. Return it to Academic Senate, E202
