Readers Guide to Periodical Literature is an example of a general index, one that leads you to articles in popular magazines covering all subject areas. Once you learn how to read a citation from Readers' Guide, you will know how to read citations in most of the specialized indexes available in the library. Pictured here are several Readers' Guide indexes.The volume numbers on the spine or back of each volume (48, 49, 50, 51) correspond to a different year (1988, 1989, 1990, 1991).
