Instructors may place materials on reserve for specific courses. This is a good way to make sure important course materials are available for use by all students in the class. One of the most frequent requests at the Library is for copies of the current course textbooks; the Library staff encourages faculty to put an extra copy of course textbooks on reserve. Materials already in the library's circulating collection may be placed on reserve or instructors can place their own copies of titles on reserve. Reserve materials may include textbooks, lecture notes, supplemental course readers, packets, etc. Loose materials such as photocopies should be in a folder or binder ready for use. To place an item on reserve, faculty should visit the circulation desk of the library where the students will access the materials. Please bring the material to be placed on reserve and fill out a pink Reserve Material List form. Be prepared to specify how long the loan period should be to maximize student use. For forms and questions, please contact the circulation staff listed at the appropriate library location:
To request that the library consider the purchase of new materials or for more detailed questions about library support for your courses, contact the appropriate department subject librarians or the appropriate campus librarian. |
