Out 'n' Proud: 70 Yrs. of Queer Life 1935 - 2005

Years before the founding of City College in 1935, Lesbians and Gay Men were living, loving, and creating queer lives in the Bay Area. As City College of San Francisco was being conceived and brought from dream to reality, Queer cultures and communities were already thriving and growing, though somewhat underground. Throughout the life of the City College, GLBT people have contributed to its success and to its surrounding communities in the Bay Area.< On the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of City College of San Francisco, this exhibit honors 70 years of Queer Life of the Bay Area. In some of the cases are materials representing expressions of queer identity at City College, including student clubs and the formation of the first Gay and Lesbian Studies Department in the country.
