Welcome to Out at the Library Out at the Library celebrates gay and lesbian history. It is based on the book with the same name. What if you didn't know anything about the people who came before you? Women and men, students, workers, artists, authors, musicians, patriots and activists who have felt many of the same things that you do? Libraries and archives are filled with proof that there have been people like us, no matter who we are, throughout history. Learning from our history through libraries can give us strength. This Exhibition is another way of reading a book. What you see here are pages that we've selected to give you an idea of how rich gay and lesbian history is. You can borrow the book, Out at the Library, Celebrating the James C. Hormel Gay and Lesbian Center of the San Francisco Public Library here in the CCSF Libraries. Ask a librarian for help finding it, check it out! Special Thanks to Catherine King, Director of Exhibitions Department at the San Francisco Public Library and to Jim Van Buskirk, Manger of the James C. Hormel Gay and Lesbian Center at the San Francisco Public Library sharing their Out at the Library Project with the Rosenberg Library. |
