Jump Start: Hype on Youth Activism, Making Change in the Bay Area, Feb. 10 - May 7, 2004: An exhibition showcasing over
15 activist projects at the City College Libraries. From the Exhibition Statement: "Every
one of us has ideas about how we'd like our world to improve. Each of the projects
represented here began with a strong desire to build better communities and were produced
with passionate optimism, imagination and commitment."
About Youth Speaks: "Since 1996, Youth Speaks has been on the front lines of an emerging body of youth picking up the pen and grabbing hold of the microphone to take part in a national creative writing movement." Exhibition produced by CCSF Libraries and Youth Leadership Institute and cosponsored by Yo! Youth Outlook. Events sponsored by the Associated Students--Cultural Affairs/Ocean Campus, Transitional Studies Department and Concerts and Lectures Series and the CCSF Libraries. Celebrate African American History month with a performance by Youth Speaks on Wednesday, February 18, 12-1:00pm, Ocean Campus, Rosenberg Library, Room 304, On Wednesday, February 25, 11am-12pm, there will be another performance at the John Adams Campus, Auditorium, 3rd Floor, 1860 Hayes St., San Francisco. |
