Peacock-Harper Culinary Collection, Virginia Tech University Libraries
Find nearly two centuries of historical information about the domestic sciences, including customs, eating behaviors, food choices and habits, social and economic history, and scientific and technological progress.To find titles in the Culinary History Collection, search the library's online catalog, Addison, by doing a combination word search for "Culinary Collection." To find images digitized from the Collection, browse the available categories or search the VT ImageBase.

Schlesinger Library Culinary Collection
This special collection of the Schlesinger Library supports research in culinary history, history of domestic life and the role of food in history and culture. A guide to culinary holdings is available on this website. The books, which date from the 16th century to the present, represent the cuisines of all nations.

Husted Culinary Collection: Penrose Library, University of Denver
The Husted Special Collection is one of several large culinary collections in the United States. Although the collection is international in scope, most of the volumes represent regional cuisine of the United States. The breadth of the collection provides a unique resource for researchers interested in the history of American domestic and culinary practices over the past few centuries

Los Angeles Public Library Menu Collection
This is a database of menus stored in the Rare Book Room of the Central Library. Images of the actual menus can be viewed. You may search by keyword, restaurant name, type of cuisine, and date.

The Menu Collection of the New York Public Library

The Hotel School, Hospitality and Management Department at Cornell University houses one of the largest hospitality libraries in the world. The library capabilities extend beyond Cornell to the hospitality industry through the fee-based research service, Hostline.

Other Collections & Libraries of Interest

Wine Institue Library and Archive
The collection consists of about 3,000 titles and currently maintains subscriptions to over a hundred periodicals relevant to the wine industry. Strengths of the collection include a notable historical and photo archive chronicling the history of the wine industry in California. Rare wine lists, menus, historical wine periodicals and an old wine label collection are also stored in the archives as part of our special collection.
