Alice Statler Library: Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does the library carry textbooks and may students check them out?

Textbooks for CAHS courses are shelved in the Reserves Area, located in the first shelving unit near the periodicals but facing the circulation desk. The Statler Library tries to provide multiple copies; older editions are available in the circulating collection as well. Oftentimes, the older editions vary only slightly from the new editions.

Reserve textbooks may be checked out after 1:00 PM each day and MUST be returned by 9:00AM the following day. Students can place reserve books on hold to be picked up later in the day or on another specific day (for example, a student can place a reserve book on hold for Friday and keep the book over the weekend to be returned by 9:00AM Monday morning).
