San Francisco Bay Area

City College of San Francisco enjoys a majestic location in a fabled city that sits at the top of Northern California's bay Area peninsula, rimmed by the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and the San Francisco Bay.

Spectacular bridges, including the magnificent Golden Gate and Bay Bridge, connect the city with the esteemed university town of Berkeley and the Sierra Nevada Mountain ski resorts to the east. The picturesque town of Sausalito and the beautiful Napa Valley winery region are to the north.

Outstanding wilderness areas are less than a half-hour away. The spectacular Squaw Valley Ski Resort is only a half-day's trip as well as Yosemite National Park. To the south, one can visit Silicon Valley, where international electronic and computer corporations have located their headquarters. Stanford University, one of the most prestigious private universities in the United States, is just a 30 minute drive from San Francisco.

San Francisco's steep hills, bay views, distinctive architecture, cable cars, Alcatraz Island, Chinatown, Golden Gate Park, Nob Hill, Fisherman's Wharf, coupled with its wealth of fashion, entertainment, culture, and dining are famous around the world. An important financial and international business center, the San Francisco Bay Area has a population of over 3 million. It has been called the most beautiful city in the United States.
