Curriculum
- 17 1/2-week and 8 1/2-week school year programs as well as 4 and 8 week summer programs
- 20 hours per week of instruction, plus field trips and special activities.
- Intensive training in English grammar and reading, report and essay writing, and academic skills
- Emphasis on study skills including note-taking, use of the library, test taking, academic listening skills and American classroom methods and culture
- Practice in American pronunciation and conversation skills
- Elective courses include: Pronunciation, American culture, Vocabulary development, business English, College listening skills, College Success Skills and TOEFL preparation, American Short Stories
- Preparation and practice for the TOEFL examination, including test-taking techniques included in all classes
- Instituitional TOEFL tests are given every semester to IEP students.
