Liana M Hain Ph.D. Nursing, University of Calfornia San Francisco |
Professor Hain has taught at CCSF since 2008.
Her goal is to empower students to learn and to be successful for entry level education in nursing. She also believes that students who earn an associate degree in nursing should continue forward to a higher degree in nursing. Professor Hain's goal is to support students for success in nursing and she believes in the power of mentoring.
She is working on gettting involved in College activities.
Professor Hain is President of the California League for Nursing, an Advisory Member of the California Governor's Task Force on Nursing Education, and she writes a national food column for the Italian Catholic Federation.
She collects gourmet recipies, writes, cooks, hunts for wild mushrooms, forages for food, travels, and enjoys films, barbecues, and hiking.

Professor Kania has been teaching at CCSF for the last two years.
As a clinical nursing instructor, he believes the best way to learn is by doing the job. He learned "on the job" as a medic in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war. Not only does he role play, he also has his students watch him as he interviews and interacts with patients.
Professor Kania has authored Registered Nurse Education Through Independent Study (1990).
This year, he has mentored three RN students in the Masters Program at Holy Names University. He and his wife enjoy going to antique car shows in his 1951 Ford.

Professor Perez began teaching at CCSF in January 2006.
She believes that the motivated, self-directed student has endless possibilities. "My job is to teach students the critical thinking skills needed to investigate, learn and develop a passion for the nursing profession." She hopes to help students use the most current, evidenced-based guidelines in their practice at the bedside. "My challenge is to incorporate theoretical nursing with actual clinical care in a way that benefits the patient, student and health care system."
