Professor Perez began teaching at CCSF in January 2006.
She believes that the motivated, self-directed student has endless possibilities. "My job is to teach students the critical thinking skills needed to investigate, learn and develop a passion for the nursing profession." She hopes to help students use the most current, evidenced-based guidelines in their practice at the bedside. "My challenge is to incorporate theoretical nursing with actual clinical care in a way that benefits the patient, student and health care system."

Professor Smith has been teaching at CCSF since 1979.
He teaches the basics of psychosocial nursing to registered nursing students. He also uses up to date material and anecdotes to supplement textbook reading. Professor Smith uses creative approaches to increase his students' knowledge and skills in mental health nursing. He also helps students to be holistic in their approach to patients.
Professor Smith has been Nursing Social Committe Chair for 15 years. He volunteers for the Coalition of Concerned Medical Professionals and donates time to Disabled Sports of Oakland.
His interests include snow skiing, tennis, scubba diving, music, travel, rock concerts, and crossword puzzles.
