Ms. Atkinson has been teaching at CCSF for the past 15 years.
Her goal is bring current investigation skills used by the San Francisco Police Department into the classroom, coupled with current laws and Federal & State obligations.
Ms. Atkinson has been a Sergeant/Inspector with the San Francisco Police Department for the past 28 years. During the past five years she has been an Inspector with the Vice Crimes Division. She has also been a member of the Hostage Negotiation Team for the past twenty years.
She is also involved with the City and County of San Francisco Juvenile Prostitution Task Force, the Threat Management Team and the Crisis Negotiation Team

Mr. Connors has been teaching at CCSF since the fall semester of 1997.
His goal is to help students develop an interest in the field of fire fighting and all of its related activities - EMS, HazMat, Structural Fire Fighting, Wildland Fire Fighting, Fire Prevention, and Fire Management. He also seeks to assist and motivate students in a positive & supportive learning environment. He retired as a Captain in January, 2007 from the San Francisco Fire Department, after 32 years of service to the City of San Francisco. He brings his experience as an engine officer, company commander, safety officer, wildland firefighter, and Recruit Training Captain to the classroom, and the new Fire Fighter One Academy that started in January, 2008.
He is on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Fire Credit Union.
Mr. Connors was apointed to the State Training Educational Advisory Committee (STEAC) as an alternate member in November, 2008, and as a permanent member representing the Northern section of the California Fire Technology Director's Association. . STEAC works with the California State Fire Marshal's office, State Fire Training, California Fire Technology Director's Association, and other state organizations that approve and recommend fire education programs in the State of California.
Mr. Connors is a member of the California Fire Technology Director's Association and American Federation of Teachers Local 2121. He volunteers with the San Francisco Fire Department Toy Program, sponsored by Local 798 of the International Assoication of Firefighters. He has assisted Ronald McDonald House San Francisco in fire training, fire prevention, and on-site disaster preparedness.
His extracurricular activities include spending as much time as possible with his family (including his twin grandsons), golfing, hiking, on the water at Clear Lake, and in the Sierras near Bear Valley.

Battalion Chief Dea has been teaching at CCSF since 2008.
Battalion Chief Dea is a certified Chief Officer, Fire Officer and Fire Instructor.
His educational philosophy is to treat students with respect and to create interest in the field of Fire Science Technology.

Mr. De Girolamo has been teaching at CCSF for the past 38 years.
His goal is to maintain a positive attitude in serving our college community as Police Chief for CCSF and to motivate the students of the Campus Police Program to develope law enforcement social skills when dealing with the college community. The Internship class/program provides an opportunity for students to gain insight and experience while interning in many local law enforcement agencies.
Mr. De Girolamo is Faculty Advisor for the Student Campus Service Club and he is a member of the CCSF Parking and Transportation Committee, Health and Safety Committee and Facilities Review Committee.
He's a member of the Elks. Olympic Club, Italian Social Club of S.F. and San Mateo. He's also a range office at the Coyote Pistol and Rifle Range under the supervision the Sheriff of San Mateo, Greg Munks.
His extracurricular activities include Gardening and Phycical Condition activities. He also enjoys the study of Ornithology.

Professor Dito has been teaching at CCSF since 2008.
Instructional/educational philosophy and goals:
State Fire Marshal Instructor, To establish future educational goals and careers for students in the public sectors of firefighting and emergency medical services.
Professor Dito is a Neighborhood Emergency Response Training Instructor for the San Francisco Fire Department.
He enjoys camping, skiing, offroad vehicles, and travel.

Administration of Justice/Fire Science Department Capt. Juratovac received her Bachelor’s degree in English and Minor in Asian American Studies from U.C. Berkeley in 1990. She then worked in the business and marketing field prior to obtaining her Juris Doctorate in 1996. She is also a graduate of CCSF, having received her A.S. in Fire Science Technology and Certificate in Fire Protection. |
Capt. Juratovac completed the United States Fire Administration's National Fire Academy four-year Executive Fire Officer Program in 2005 and obtained the California State Fire Training and Education System’s Fire Officer and Chief Officer certificates in 2003 and 2005, respectively. Capt. Juratovac also earned her Fire Instructor I certificate through the state in 2003. She is also a state certified Hazardous Materials Specialist, and possesses certifications in Rescue Systems I and II, Trench Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Auto Extrication, Wildland, SCUBA, and numerous other certifications. She is qualified to work on the San Francisco Fire Department's Heavy Rescue Squad and Surf Rescue companies.
She has been an adjunct faculty member at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, MD since 2003. Capt. Juratovac has been teaching at CCSF's Fire Science Technology Program since 2003.
Capt. Juratovac has been with the San Francisco Fire Department since 1997 beginning at the rank of Firefighter/EMT. She has been assigned to some of the busiest engine and truck companies, including Engine 7 and Truck 7, in the City's Mission District, and she is now the captain of Truck 1, one of the busiest truck companies in the country.
Capt. Juratovac has enjoyed a myriad of other assignments, including surf/cliff rescue stations, as well as an administrative assignment reporting directly to the Chief of Department and two Deputy Chiefs. She also served, and continues to serve, as a field training officer to probationary Firefighter/EMTs and Firefighter/Paramedics.
Throughout her career, Capt. Juratovac has balanced the need to augment one's education, training, and experience, as championed by the United States Fire Administration and its "Learning Triad." As an ex-student/athlete, Capt. Juratovac encourages students to be well-rounded, supporting various campus activities outside of her classroom.
Capt. Juratovac ensures a learning environment that fosters dignity and respect for all students so as to create an interactive and productive setting. Capt. Juratovac's goal for each student is to have him/her use her class and others at CCSF as a conduit to an Associate's degree so that many more doors of opportunity may swing open (i.e., admission to a four-year university, an entry-level position as a firefighter and or paramedic, etc.).
Capt. Juratovac participates in a variety of community events, including training citizens within the fire department-sponsored Neighborhood Emergency Response Team. She is also a member of the International Association of Fire Chief's Safety, Health, and Survival Section's Website Committee and is a contributing author of various fire and emergency services textbooks. Capt. Juratovac is a member of a number of professional associations within the American Fire Service.
A product of San Francisco, Capt. Juratovac grew up in the Richmond, North Beach, and Western Addition Districts. She graduated from Galileo High School where she was named San Francisco Unified School District's Girl Student/Athlete of the Year.
In her spare time, Capt. Juratovac enjoys team sports, reading, writing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Kilgariff has been teaching at CCSF for the past 38 years.
His educational goal is to maintain the high quality of education and ethics at CCSF. He also aims to instill the value of a sound and current knowledge in the Administration of Justice field in his students.
Mr. Kilgariff is a former fraternity sponsor, past member of the San Francisco Youth Court, and past member of the San Francisco Grand Jury.
In his leisure time, he enjoys golf and, for the past 35 years, has been a timer of CCSF football games.

His educational goal is to teach his students how to survive and be employable in the current times.
Mr. Lawson is a member of the CCSF Hiring Committee, an A.F.T. Representative, and an Adviser to Student Government. He is also on the San Francisco Crime Commission and the Veteran's Police Officer's Association.
In his leisure time, Mr. Lawson enjoys tennis, golf, the San Francisco Oldtimers Baseball Association and working with young players.

Mr. Brendan O'Leary has been an instructor at CCSF since 1995 and he was a member of the San Francisco Fire Department for 31 1/2 years. He was assigned to the Bureau of Fire Investigation for 15 years and was also a supervising Captain with the Bureau of Fire Prevention. He retired as the Assistant Deputy Chief of Homeland Security and was a former director of San Francisco Firefighters Local 798.
Mr. O'Leary is a certified Investigator with the State Fire Marshal's Office and with the Institute of Criminal Investigation (POST). He has completed the Fire/Arson Investigation program at the National Fire Academy in Maryland. He assisted with the development of the POST Telecourse for first responding police officers regarding arson and explosives incidents.
Mr. O'Leary was also a member of the State Fire Marshal Curriculum Development team that revised the Investigation 1 B (Techniques of Fire Investigation) course.

He is a mentor/facilitator for students interning at the San Francisco Police Department Legal Division.
Mr. Yin is on the Board of Directors for the Community Youth Center and the Northern California Asian Peace Officers Association. He is a member of the American Bar Association and California State Bar, as well as the American Trial Lawyers Association.
