Prof. Johnson has been working as a career counselor and instructor at CCSF since 1976. Professor Johnson retired as full time faculty in June 2011 and now teaches several online Learning Assistance courses.

Additionally, Dr. Mitchell holds a Community College Credential, California Secondary Teaching Credential, and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential.

Dr. Mitchell is a professor of Career Development. Dr. Mitchell created the courses Lern 60, Creating Career Options; Lern 61, Introduction to Career Development; Lern 62, Introduction to Job Seeking Skills; Lern 62, Internship Preparation, and Lern 68, Career Coaching for Those Working with Youth. Dr. Mitchell has taught graduate courses at San Francisco State University and Dominican University.

Students have many questions about their college major and their career options. They are often pressured by family, friends, and professionals to declare a major. In response to this stress, students often choose a major or career direction before they have had a chance to explore even one option. Dr. Mitchell's philosophy is that majors are chosen and careers are launched as a result of taking action on one's curiosity. Her goals are to help students to clarify their areas of curiosity and to provide guidance and support to them as they begin to explore their curiosity and interests.

Dr. Mitchell has served as the Department Chair of the Career Counseling Department and has directed the credit Contract Education Department. Dr. Mitchell has served on numerous committees, most recently the Enhanced Orientation, Basic Skills, and Student Learning Outcome committees. Dr. Mitchell developed the Academic Progress and Review, and the Career Readiness Survey.

Dr. Mitchell has published The Unplanned Career: How to Turn Curiosity into Opportunity, Chronicle Books. Dr. Mitchell has coauthored book chapters published by the American Psychological Association and the National Career Development Association. She has published numerous articles in the popular press and in academic journals. She is the originator of the career development theory entitled Planned Happenstance.

Dr. Mitchell is writing her second book on curiosity and career development that will be published as an IBook.

Dr. Rowley has been an academic counselor, career counselor, and student development instructor since 1999. Currently, Dr. Rowley is a college success instructor and coordinator.

He states: "It is my responsibility as a community college instructor and counselor to continually work towards providing students with the experiences and tools needed to pursue, realize and achieve their goals - both educationally and personally."

Dr. Rowley has completed his dissertation entitled "The Internal Worlds of First Generation Community College Students: Students' Critical Reflections on the Role of Resilience in their Academic Success."

In his leisure time, Dr. Rowley enjoys cycling and spending time with his family.
