Computer skills are part of our daily lives. So, my philosophy is based on using daily routines/tasks to teach computer skills - the students will then be able to rapidly connect the concept to their reality.
When teaching subjects related to web development, I tend to bring to classes real-life examples and many times cases that have been discussed in the recent articles.

Member of the Career &> Tech Ed Committee at CCSF.
Member of IEEE - Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers
Member of WOW - World Organization of Webmasters (http://webprofessionals.org/)
Started a web development group with students and ex-students to develop and/or maintain websites for small businesses and non-profit organizations
