B.F.A., Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, 1970; M.A., San Francisco State University, 1977.

Anita Toney has been teaching printmaking at City College since 1980, mostly at the Fort Mason Campus.

"The most dominant feature of my prints is the rich diversity of color that has been achieved through the use of the multiple plate color etching process. The inspiration for my images comes from an appreciation of my surroundings inside and out, near and far. My etchings emphasize natural and man-made patterns focusing on a certain mood or moment."
"I have been teaching for over 30 years, but I still find the whole process exciting- sharing the techniques of printmaking with new students and being involved in the creative process with so many students over the years."
