Ms. Jackson has been a teacher at CCSF since 1983.

She is a student advocate for acting (coaching) and directing (providing opportunities to mentor students to direct major productions). She has developed a playwrighting curriculum that incorporates playwrights, actors, and directors.

Ms. Jackson has been an Actress with the highly acclaimed Pear Avenue Theatre Company, TheatreWorks, Palo Alto Players, Actors Ensemble of Berkeley, and Act Now! in Walnut Creek, portraying major roles that received high praise. She was an Adjudicator with the Kennedy Center-American College Theatre Festival. She is a Board Member of the Eugene O'Neill Foundation. She has won a Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award for Best Original Play in 2009, and has her own theatre company: SOUTHERN RAILROAD THEATRE COMPANY. She is a member of Dramatists Guild of America, Pear Writers Guild, and former member of PlayGround.

She was selected for WHO'S WHO OF AMERICAN TEACHERS in 1997, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Her extracurricular activities include jogging, and writing. She has published several short stories, poems and had several plays produced in the Bay Area.
