Bob has taught at City College since 1976, full time since 2000. He has also taught music at Solano and Cabrillo Community Colleges and sound design for theater at San Francisco State University.

The Kronos String Quartet has performed his music. He was the sound engineer for over 75 performances of Laurie Anderson’s “United States, Parts I – IV” in the US and Europe and has performed his work at Moscow, Stockholm and Italian theater festivals. He designed sound for the film “Vegas in Space,” written and performed his solo show, “Banjo,” and edited books on the San Francisco punk scene for Last Gasp Publishers. Bob has been awarded grants from National Endowment for the Arts, California Arts Council, Zellerbach Family Fund, LEF Foundation and New American Radio Foundation. He is listed in four editions of Who's Who in American Education.
