M. S.Mathematics, 2006, California State University, Hayward; M. A.Literature, 1996, University of Colorado, Boulder; B. A.Mathematics, 1990, University of Colorado, Boulder I was hired as Math Lab Coordinator in March 2002 and became fulltime faculty in Fall 2006. In every class I teach my goals for my students include the following: 1. Learn some math and some of its applications; 2. Learn to communicate more effectively, both verbally and in writing, about mathematics; 3. Increase selfconfidence; 4. See how math can relate to life; 5. Take another step toward completing their academic goals; 6. Develop their mathematical and general analytic skills to understand the world; 7. Grow as people and students of mathematics. Prior to coming to CCSF, I taught both math and English at the University of Colorado from 1989 to 1998. In the Bay Area, I worked in the "Math Lab" at Ohlone College before finding my home at City College.
