My teaching philosophy is straightforward. Each time I step into a classroom my goal is to encourage students to learn, provide opportunities for students to establish connections with one another, and empower students to become proactive learners. To me this means continually updating course material, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and styles to disseminate information, and pushing students beyond their comfort zones by teaching them how to critically evaluate social life in our society as well as others. This is an exciting profession and I feel that excitement needs to also be in the classroom.
