Summary overview of Computer Resources available to Faculty and Staff at CCSF (duplicates info on this page): Word PDF
All full- or part-time CCSF Faculty or Staff are entitled to the following computer accounts:
- A CCSF Windows network account. This account enables logging into any networked Faculty/Staff Windows computer on any networked CCSF campus. This account also gives you access to your own drive on the network. So, you can save documents to your network drive at Chinatown and retrieve them at Mission — but only if you use your own login and password to access your account. For more information, click the Network link on this site.
- A GroupWise email account, accessible from any computer (Windows or Mac) via the Internet Explorer browser. A more full-featured program is available on all Faculty/Staff Windows computers within the CCSF campus network. For more information, see the GroupWise for Windows page.
After receiving their network and GroupWise accounts: Faculty/Staff folks who want to use a shared iMac in a teacher’s lounge or common area or who have a Mac on their office desk top should arrange for a personal account on the CCSF Mac(s) that they designate. Either email Sue Bettinger (for Ocean and 33 Gough campuses: sbetting@ccsf.edu) or call the Help Desk (230-3711) for such accounts.
This information is repeated on the Request for CCSF Network Login and GroupWise Email form. There is more info on the Mac Accounts page.
- Other Accounts: For creating Web pages on the fog server, and, for those that need them, accounts on the Banner system.
Getting your accounts
Submit a Request for CCSF Network Login and GroupWise Email form. Call the Help Desk (415-239-3711) or ask your local ITS staff person for a copy.
And/Or: Attend a Technology Learning Center (TLC) Getting Your Accounts workshop (an overview of CCSF computer resources), or one of the basic workshops on GroupWise Web (for Mac or Windows users) or GroupWise Windows (for on-campus Windows users).
For an up-to-date schedule of workshops, browse to http://www.ccsf.edu/tlc and click the training link. You'll see links to workshop schedules and descriptions as well as how to set up workshops for your department. The page also provides information on other kinds of training.
Notification
Accounts will be created about a week after receipt of the Request form. Notification about the status of your new accounts will arrive through campus mail.
Use your User ID to log into the Windows network, GroupWise, and your Mac account(s). You must change your password when you first log into the CCSF Windows network. You can and should change your GroupWise and Mac passwords, but you are not forced to.
