Windows XP computers deployed in 2002-2003 have these standard features:
- Pentium 4 1.7 GHz
- 512 MB RAM (internal memory)
- 15" Flat panel display
- Optical mouse
- 20-30GB Hard disk
- 250 MB Zip drive (takes 100 MB or 2150 MB Zip disks)
- 3.5" floppy drive
- USB 2.0 ports (in back and front)
- Sound card and plugs for speakers/headphones (no built-in speakers)
- USB 2.0 ports
- 1 parallel and 1 serial port
- Keyboard
- If your computer freezes, press the Restart button above the Power button.
- For normal shutdown, use software: Click Start > Shut down
- Use Zip disks for backup and to carry around your documents
- Another convenient way to backup and carry data: Pen drives (also called thumb drives, flash drives, jump drives)
