COMPUTERLAND LAPTOPS |
|||
A few special-purpose "laptops" were purchased from Computerland. These have virtually the same specs as the Toshibas, with two important differences: Meant to be used permanently attached to carts, they do not operate on batteries. They need to be plugged into an AC power source. The ESL Department has several on their media carts at most campuses. The entire cart, projector, computer and all, can be checked out for classroom use by ESL teachers. See local ESL tech faculty or ITS support people. Although they read DVDs and read from and write to writable CDs, they use software different from that in the Toshibas: Nero Express. A full manual is provided on the computer's hard disk, but here are Basic Instructions for burning a CD with Nero Express. |
