2003-2004 Laptop Distributions

Laptops were distributed to some full-time faculty during the last rollout of new computers, based on a combination of need, properly filled out request forms, approval by department heads, and available funds—yes, CCSF is so big that we have to behave like a bureaucracy sometimes.

All CCSF laptops are entrusted to full-time Faculty under certain conditions. Everyone who received a laptop had to sign this document: CCSF Laptop Guidelines.

Buying a laptop now

After the past rollout and until the next, computer purchases must come out of Department funds. CCSF's Purchasing Department has a frequently updated page on what you need to know about buying a computer here.

Laptop models have a life of only a few months. So, several models are now in use. The other links on this site represent the bulk of the laptop ditributions. The Help desk (239-3711) knows about other models, and if you are at an outlying campus your local ITS staff person may be able to help too.
