  RENTING VIDEO TAPES



ACT is a private organization which is NOT a part of City College of San Francisco.

This firm provides another option of viewing your video lessons. It will rent you copies of all the video lessons for your class. The cost is a nonrefundable $35-$55 per course, plus shipping and handling for VHS, DVD and CD-ROM rentals. Refunds given only if the college drops the course after you have enrollment.

Upon receipt of payment, material will be shipped within 2-9 working days via USPS. Priority and Express options are also available at an additional cost.

Included with the rental is a prepaid return shipping label. At the end of the semester, simply return the materials to their original packaging including the original packing slip. Put the return shipping label on the box. Then take the package to any USPS Office.

TERMS

THE FOLLOWING ARE RENTAL TERMS:

  1. The rental/access period is for the semester in which you are currently enrolled. The materials must be returned no later than 30 days from the final day of your course. If the materials are not returned in this grace period, an additional $35-$55 per course will be assessed to your credit card/account, after a letter of notification.
  2. All media must be returned in satisfactory condition. If they are damaged (pizza sauce, beverage spills or doggie chew for example), you must pay $18.50 per damaged videocassette, DVD or CD-ROM.
  3. Materials are for personal use only, and that any duplication, broadcast or group usage is a violation of the copyright owned by the producer.
  4. The lessons and the media on which they are duplicated are subject to a LIMITED WARRANTY only. This LIMITED WARRANTY GUARANTEES that the lessons and media will be free from defects in materials and workmanship at the time of delivery to you. If materials are damaged or defective when received, call ACT at 1-800-745-5480, and they will send you a replacement set at their expense.

ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, ARE EXPRESSLY DENIED AND/OR WAIVED, AND IN NO EVENT IS THE FIRM LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT OR SPECIAL DAMAGES INCURRED BY YOU, OR FOR ANY PUNITIVE OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES. ALL RENTAL TRANSACTIONS SHALL BE SOLELY BETWEEN THE STUDENT AND THE FIRMS.
