This course surveys the history of our times, offering insight into the
turbulent events of these 100 years. Emphasis will be placed on the social
and political upheaval of the times, including war and revolution - and great
expectations. Also illustrates how and why the 20th century was shaped as much
by the masses and the force of the common people as by the elite and powerful.
