October 2003

10/30, Phelan Campus, 1515 hours - Officers responded to a disturbance on the second floor of Cloud Hall.  Officers arrived and tried to talk to a suspect when he turned and ran.  After a long foot chase the suspect was stopped on Judson Avenue near Gennessee Street.  The suspect fought with the arresting officer and it took several officers to handcuff the suspect.  The suspect was booked at County Jail Nine on several charges including fleeing and resisting arrest-Officer Borrego reporting.

10/29, Mission Campus, 1317 hours - A counter report was taken regarding a theft from building.  A teacher reported that a radio was stolen from his classroom the previous week-Officer Lopez reporting.

10/28, Phelan Campus, 2050 hours - A sergeant conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for making an illegal u-turn on Phelan Avenue.  The driver of the vehicle was driving on an expired driver’s license.  The driver was issued a citation and his car was impounded-Sergeant Seligsohn reporting. 

10/28, Phelan Campus, 1017 hours - A counter report was taken regarding a theft from vehicle in the North Reservoir parking lot.  A student said several items were stolen from his unlocked vehicle while he attended class-Officer Hakes reporting.

10/27, Phelan Campus, 1615 hours - A Sergeant on foot patrol observed a green van pull up to a bus shelter on Phelan Avenue. The passenger stuck what appeared to be an air gun out the window and shot out the bus shelter glass.  The van then fled the area.  Mobile units were unable to locate the van-Sergeant Seligsohn Reporting.

10/27, Phelan Campus, 1545 hours - A counter report was taken regarding a restraining order violation.  A student reported she was being harassed by a person that she has a restraining order against-Officer Hector reporting

10/24, Phelan Campus, 1620 hours - A counter report was taken regarding a fight that occurred earlier in the day.  Two students reported they were involved in a fight near Batmale Hall.  Both students said they were victims in the incident.  No suspects could be identified-Sergeant Low reporting.

10/22, Phelan Campus, 1100 hours - Officers responded to the front of Batmale Hall on a report of a person selling drugs.  A witness said the suspect was flashing marijuana and offering it for sale.  The witness also provided an excellent description of the suspect.  Officers spotted the suspect immediately upon arrival and detained him.  A search of the suspect yielded a marijuana bindle and packaging material.  The suspect was booked at San Francisco Police Department’s Ingleside Station for possession of marijuana for sale-Officer Brooks reporting.   

10/18, Phelan Campus, 0800 hours - A counter report was taken regarding a vandalism near the Creative Arts building-Officer Wong reporting. 

10/17, Phelan Campus, 1523 hours - A counter report was taken regarding a bicycle theft near Cloud Plaza.  A student said his bicycle and lock were stolen while he attended class-Officer Smith reporting.

10/17, Evans Campus, 1232 hours-An officer responded to a report of an auto burglary.  A student reported that his backpack was stolen from his vehicle while he attended class-Officer Wong reporting.

10/17, Phelan Campus, 1115 hours - A counter report was taken regarding an auto burglary in the South Reservoir parking lot.  A student said his car was broken into the day before and his car stereo was stolen-Officer Smela reporting.   

10/17, Mission Campus, 1020 hours - Officers on patrol noticed a student smelling what appeared to be a small baggy of marijuana.  The suspect was detained without incident.  The suspect turned out to be a juvenile from the adjacent high school-Officer Lopez reporting.

10/16, Phelan Campus, 1835 hours - A counter report was taken regarding an auto burglary in the North Reservoir parking lot.  A student reported her car was broken into and her car stereo was stolen.  The student’s car stereo was recovered in an arrest that occurred earlier in the day-Officer Hector reporting.

10/16, Phelan Campus, 1420 hours - A Sergeant responded to the South Reservoir on a reported auto burglary.  A student reported her car was broken into and her car stereo was stolen.  The student’s car stereo was recovered in an arrest that occurred earlier in the day-Sergeant Low reporting.

10/16, Phelan Campus, 1400 hours - A Sergeant responded to the South Reservoir on a reported auto burglary.  A student reported his car was broken into and several items were stolen.  The student’s stolen property was recovered in an arrest that occurred earlier in the day-Sergeant Low reporting.

10/16, Phelan Campus, 1400 hours - A counter report was taken regarding a hit and run accident that occurred at Gennessee and Flood Streets.  The victim was stuck from behind while stopping at the intersection-Officer Ngoi reporting.

10/16, Phelan Campus, 1223 hours - Officers responded to the South Reservoir on a report of three suspicious subjects casing vehicles.  A sergeant spotted three suspects matching the description leaving the parking lot in a vehicle.  A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and one of the occupants was arrest for a warrant violation.  After an investigation, several hundred dollars in stolen property was recovered from the trunk of the vehicle.  The suspects were booked at County Jail Nine on numerous charges-Officer Brooks reporting.

10/09, Castro/Valencia Campus, 1759 hours - A bomb threat was phoned into the San Francisco Community College District Police Dispatch Center.  The caller said there was a bomb at the Castro/Valencia Campus.  The building was shutdown while officers searched for possible explosive devices.  The building was cleared and the students returned to school-Officer Murillo reporting.   

10/09, Phelan Campus, 1640 hours - Officers responded to an attempted theft at the CCSF bookstore.  An employee of the college said a man came into her office and attempted to steal her purse which was sitting next to her.   The employee confronted the man who fled in an unknown direction-Officer Smith reporting.

10/09, Phelan Campus, 0925 hours - An officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation.  The driver of the vehicle had a suspended driver’s license.  The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation and his vehicle was impounded-Officer Brooks reporting.

10/08, Phelan Campus, 1345 hours - A counter report was taken regarding a vandalism to vehicle.  A student said someone broke the rear window of his car-Officer Brooks reporting.

10/08, Phelan Campus, 1330 hours - An officer responded to the North Reservoir parking lot regarding a theft from vehicle.  A student said someone broke into his car and stole a car stereo-Officer brooks reporting.

10/07, Phelan Campus, 1000 hours - An officer and Sergeant on patrol of the path behind the Ornamental/Horticulture building noticed four subjects standing around.  As the officer approached the four subjects, one of them threw what appeared to be marijuana to the ground and attempted to conceal a marijuana pipe.  The officer detained the suspect and conducted a search which yielded a knife, paraphernalia and marijuana package for sale.  A search of a second suspect yielding a knife, paraphernalia, marijuana packaged for sale and a large amount of cash in small bills.  Both suspects were taken to County Jail Nine and booked for possession of marijuana for sale, possessing a knife on school grounds and possession of drug paraphernalia.  The other two subjects were released, after being interviewed-Officer Brooks reporting. 

10/06, Phelan Campus, 1045 hours - An officer was dispatched to the Smith Hall regarding a theft.  A student said someone broke into her locker and stole her purse-Officer Brooks reporting.

10/02, Southeast Campus, 1501 hours - An officer responded to a verbal fight in the parking lot.  One of the parties was in a vehicle.  After the officer identified the two parties, it was discovered that the party driving the car had a suspended driver’s license.  The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation and her vehicle was impounded-Officer Castillo reporting.

10/02, Southeast Campus, 1350 hours - An officer spotted a disruptive student that had been expelled earlier in the day.  The officer stopped the student for trespassing and ran a records check on him.  The student was wanted and had a “no-bail” warrant for his arrest.  The student was transported and booked at the Youth Guidance Center-Officer Castillo reporting.

10/02, Phelan Campus, 0940 hours - A Sergeant responded to the North Gyms regarding a student that was a victim of a stalker.  The evidence suggested that the student was actually a victim of domestic violence a few days prior.  A report was made and sent to the San Francisco Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit.  The student was referred to a qualified domestic violence agency-Sergeant Low reporting. 

10/02, Phelan Campus, 0900 hours - An officer responded to a report of a disturbance in the Science Building.  A student was threatened by her ex-boyfriend.  The suspect also broke a computer monitor in a fit of rage.  The suspect fled the area before police arrived-Officer Ngoi reporting.

10/01, Evans Campus, 0730 hours - An officer responded to a report of and accident in the parking lot.  An employee of the college saw a person hit a fence on the edge of campus.  The officer arrived and questioned the driver of the car, who had an expired driver’s license.  The suspect was issued a citation for driving without a license and his vehicle was impounded-Officer Brooks reporting.
