May 2006

05/31, Ocean Campus, 1138 hours – An officer stopped a vehicle for running a red light.  The driver of the vehicle did not have identification and claimed he did not have a current driver’s license.  The driver was detained and taken to SFPD’s Ingleside Station where an electronic finger print was taken to verify his identification.  It turned out that the driver of the vehicle had multiple warrants for his arrest.  He was booked at County Jail for driving on a suspended license and multiple warrants including a “no bail” warrant – Officer Edwards reporting.

05/30, Ocean Campus, 0715 hours – An officer was dispatched to the construction site of the new Wellness Center regarding a burglary.  A contractor reported that over the weekend someone stole several items from the construction site – Officer Milowe reporting.

05/29, Ocean Campus, 1903 hours – Officers responded to the construction site of the new Health Center on a report of a theft in progress.  A neighbor reported that there were two suspects taking items from the construction site.  The witness pointed out the two suspects walking on Judson Avenue.  Officers detained the suspects and located property from the construction site nearby.  While searching the suspects, a large folding knife and lock-picks were found.  The suspects were booking at County Jail for Burglary from a construction site, possession of knife on campus and possession of burglary tools – Officer Gaytan reporting.    

05/26, 500 Broadway, 2255 hours – Officers working at a sobriety checkpoint smelled the odor of marijuana coming from a vehicle.  The Driver of the vehicle failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for driving under the influence.  The driver was booked at County Jail and his vehicle was impounded – Officer Edwards and Officer Boyko reporting. 

05/25, Ocean Campus, 1631 hours – Officers responded to Batmale Hall regarding a student stuck in an elevator.  After the student was rescued from the elevator, an ambulance was called.  SFFD Paramedics checked the student at the scene.  The student did not require further medical assistance and went to class – Officer Castillo reporting.

05/24, Ocean Campus, 1801 hours – An officer stopped a vehicle for making an illegal u-turn on Ocean Avenue.  The driver of the vehicle was never issued a driver’s license.  The driver was issued a citation and her vehicle was impounded – Officer Edwards reporting.

05/24, Ocean Campus, 1140 hours – A bicycle officer doing traffic enforcement at Edna Street and Martson Avenue attempted to stop a vehicle for running a stop sign.  The driver of the vehicle refused to stop for the officer.  A police officer in a patrol car stopped the vehicle on Judson Avenue.  The driver of the vehicle was arrested for evading a marked police bicycle as well as several other vehicle code violations – officer Milowe reporting.

05/24, Ocean Campus, 1005 hours – Officers responded to the Conlan Hall regarding a person requesting an ambulance.  Officers met with a student that told them she was feeling sick and wanted an ambulance.  Officer called an ambulance for the student.  SFFD Paramedics transported the student to the hospital – Officer Ngoi reporting. 

05/24, Ocean Campus, 0740 hours – A Student Officer spotted a person bleeding from the mouth in parking lot A.  Police officers responded to the area to assist.  The subject said he was in a fight and was struck by a baseball bat.  An ambulance was called for the subject.  The subject was disoriented and could not tell the officers where or when the fight occurred.  SFFD Paramedics transported the subject to the hospital – Officer Edwards reporting.

05/23, Ocean Campus, 0950 hours – An officer responded to a report of an alarm system failure in Conlan Hall.  Upon arrival, the officer was told that an unattended child stuck a car key into a power outlet causing a power failure.  The child was checked by the School Nurse and did not appear to suffer any injuries.  The child was taken to the hospital by the parent and power was restored to the building – Officer Ngoi reporting. 

05/20, Ocean Campus, 1001 hours – An officer on patrol was flagged down by a student that was feeling very sick.  The officer called Student Health for assistance.  A short time later, an ambulance was called for the student.  SFFD Paramedics transported the student to the hospital – Officer Edwards reporting.

05/20, Ocean Campus, 1255 hours – An officer on patrol responded to the eastside of campus regarding a report of a domestic violence suspect in the area.  San Francisco Police reported that the suspect fled from officers on Flood Street.  The officer located the suspect on Edna Street and detained him.   The victim was brought to the scene to identify the suspect. After the suspect was positively identified by the victim, he was booked at SFPD’s Ingleside Station – Officer Milowe reporting.

05/18, Mission Campus, 1840 hours – Officer responded to a complaint of a disruptive student.  The student was removed from campus and the incident was referred to the Dean of Students – Sergeant Low reporting.

05/18, Ocean Campus, 0832 hours – An officer was dispatched to Cloud Circle on a report of a vehicle fire.  The driver of the vehicle was already using a fire extinguisher on his burning vehicle.  The officer radioed dispatch for a fire truck.  The fire was quickly extinguished but the vehicle was a total loss – Officer Milowe reporting.

05/17, Southeast Campus, 1731 hours – An officer responded to a disturbance on the 5th floor.  Two subjects were involved in a heated verbal argument.  The officer separated the two subjects and identified them.  Both subjects were admonished, given trespassing warnings and told to leave campus – Officer Fiscal reporting.

05/17, Ocean Campus, 1200 hours – An officer on patrol noticed an emergency callbox pole on the ground in the Reservoir Parking Lot.  While investigating the scene, a witness approached the officer.  The witness said he saw a vehicle hit the callbox pole and drive away.  The witness also provided information about the driver and the vehicle – Officer Boyko reporting.

05/14, Ocean Campus, 1320 hours – An officer stopped a vehicle for making an illegal u-turn on Ocean Avenue.  The driver of the vehicle did not have a driver’s license.  The driver was issued a citation and his vehicle was impounded – Officer Edwards reporting.

05/14, Ocean Campus, 1120 hours – An officer stopped a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign on Judson Avenue.  The driver of the vehicle had a suspended driver’s license.  The driver was issued a citation and his vehicle was impounded – Officer Brooks reporting.

05/11, Ocean Campus, 1337 hours – An officer on patrol responded to Batmale Hall regarding an employee that was not feeling well.   SFFD Paramedics were already on scene when the officer arrived.  The employee was transported to the hospital – Officer Ngoi reporting.

05/11, Mission Campus, 1043 hours – A counter report was taken regarding a disruptive student.  After an investigation, the officer determined no crime had occurred.  The incident was forwarded to the Dean of Students – Officer Lopez reporting.

05/11, Ocean Campus, 0940 hours – An officer on patrol heard a commotion near Student Health.  The officer responded and found a student on the ground unconscious.  The officer radioed for and ambulance.  SFFD Paramedics arrived and took the student to the hospital – Officer Ngoi reporting.

05/10, Mission Campus, 1237 hours – An officer on patrol noticed two students in a verbal altercation.  After the officer determined no crime had occurred, the students were referred to the Dean of Students – Officer Lopez reporting.

05/10, Ocean Campus, 1334 hours – An officer stopped a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign.  The driver of the vehicle had a suspended driver’s license.  A back-up officer noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  A search of the driver yielded a small baggy of marijuana.   The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation and released.  The vehicle involved in the incident was impounded – Officer Boyko reporting.   

05/09, Ocean Campus, 1411 hours – An officer was dispatched to Batmale Hall regarding a fire alarm.  The San Francisco Fire Department cleared the building.  The alarm turned out to be false and was activated at a pull-station – Officer Boyko reporting. 

05/09, Alemany Campus, 1300 hours – A counter report was taken regarding a battery/domestic violence incident that occurred on 04-11-2006.  A student reported that she was struck by her boyfriend during an argument that occurred at her home.  The incident report was forwarded to SFPD’s Domestic Violence Unit – Officer Gamarra reporting. 

05/09, Ocean Campus, 0745 hours – An officer was dispatched to the Cafeteria on a report of a theft.  Two college employees reported that two suspects left the Cafeteria without paying for their food.  Officers searched the area for the suspects with negative results – Officer Boyko reporting.

05/08, Ocean Campus, 1713 hours – A counter report was taken regarding an attempted vehicle strip in parking lot K that occurred three days prior.   A student told police someone attempted to take the side mirror off of her vehicle.  The thieves only succeeded in damaging the mirror – Officer Hector reporting.

05/05, Ocean Campus, 1755 hours – A counter report was taken regarding a vandalism to vehicle.  A student said she parked her car at Eddy Street and Jones Street.  The student said she was walking away from her vehicle and someone vandalized her vehicle’s mirror – Sergeant Low reporting.

05/04, Ocean Campus, 1910 hours – A Sergeant was flagged down regarding two people arguing in a vehicle.  The Sergeant contacted the occupants of two vehicles at 356 Judson Avenue.  It appeared no crime was committed but one the subjects had $6000 dollars in arrest warrants.  The subject was taken to County Jail Nine and booked on his outstanding warrants – Sergeant Low reporting.

05/04, Ocean Campus, 0938 hours - An officer was flagged down on Judson Street regarding a vandalism.  A student said he parked his vehicle on Judson Street and when he returned one of his tires was punctured.  There were two visible puncture marks on the sidewall of the vehicle's tire - Officer Ngoi reporting.

05/02, Horace Mann Middle School, 1945 hours - Officers responded to a report of a burglary.  An employee said she saw two suspects attempting to break into a computer lab.  The employee confronted the two suspects and they ran away - Officer Borrego reporting.

05/01, Ocean Campus, 1210 hours - An officer stopped a vehicle for running a red light on Ocean Avenue.  The driver of the vehicle was never issued a driver's license.  The driver of the vehicle was issued a misdemeanor citation and his vehicle was impounded - Officer Fiscal reporting.
