March 2007

03/31, Potrero Avenue @ 24th Street, 0046 hours – An officer on patrol spotted a suspected hit and run vehicle wanted by SFPD.  There were also two subjects standing outside the vehicle.  The officer advised SFPD of the incident over the radio.  One of the subjects was arrested for public intoxication and transported to County Jail – Officer Fiscal reporting.

03/30, Ocean Campus, 1307 hours – Officers responded to the tennis courts on a report of a person of interest in a theft incident.  Officer’s met with the person and the victim.  The person of interest advised the police the victims’ property was picked up for safe keeping.  The property was returned promptly to the victim – Officer Ngoi reporting.

03/29, Ocean Campus, 1810 hours – An officer was dispatched to the North Gym on a report of a theft.  A student reported her handbag was stolen while it sat unattended in the women’s locker room – Officer Wong reporting. 

03/29, Ocean Campus, 1700 hours – A counter report was taken regarding a theft in the Student Health Center.  A student said her bicycle seat and light were stolen from a restroom.  The bicycle seat was later recovered and returned to the student – Officer Hector reporting.

03/29, Ocean Campus, 1145 hours – A counter report was taken regarding a theft in the Rosenberg Library.  A student reported that while she used a computer, her wallet was stolen from her backpack – Officer Hakes reporting.

03/29, De Avila Campus, 0945 hours – An officer was flagged down regarding a vandalism.  An unknown suspect spray painted a tile wall causing several hundred dollars in damage – Officer Russo reporting.

03/29, Ocean Campus, 0826 hours – Officers responded to a report of a disruptive student in Conlan Hall.  A student was harassing the Dean of Students.  The student was expelled from college.  Officers gave the student a trespassing admonishment and escorted him off campus – Officer Smith reporting.

03/28, Ocean Campus, 1430 hours – A counter report was taken regarding a theft in the Cafeteria.  A student told police his textbook was missing.  The officer found the textbook and returned it to the student – Officer Wendt Reporting.

03/28, Ocean Campus, 1412 hours – A counter report was taken regarding a theft in the Rosenberg Library.  A student reported that someone stole her wallet from her unattended backpack – Officer Hector reporting.

03/28, Ocean Campus, 1130 hours – An officer was trying to identify a suspect causing a disturbance on campus.  The suspect fled on a bicycle and eluded police.  Officers later corned the suspect on his bicycle in Conlan Hall.  The suspect was identified as a student.  The suspect was arrested for delaying a police officer – Officer Sanchez reporting.

03/28, De Avila Campus, 1123 hours – An officer was dispatched to a report of a theft.  A faculty member reported that her car keys and cash were stolen from her desk – Officer Boyko reporting.

03/27, Ocean Campus, 0907 hours – An officer responded to Arts Extension regarding a medical emergency.  The officer found a very sick student and called for an ambulance.  A school nurse arrived and treated the student until paramedics arrived.  The student was transported to the hospital – Officer Milowe reporting. 

03/26, Ocean campus, 1630 hours – A counter report was taken regarding a lost cellular phone.  A student reported her cellular phone missing – Officer Hector reporting.

03/23, Ocean Campus, 1856 hours – Officers were dispatched to the Reservoir Parking lot on a report of a hit and run accident.  A student reported her vehicle was damaged while she attended class – Officer Sanchez reporting.

03/23, Ocean Campus, 1515 hours – A counter report was taken regarding a theft from the Tennis Courts.  A student said his bag was stolen while he was playing tennis – Officer Wendt reporting.

03/23, Ocean Campus, 1439 hours – A counter report was taken regarding a lost cellular phone in the Creative Arts Building.  A student said he lost the phone sometime during the day of 03-16-2007 – Officer Din reporting.

03/23, Ocean Campus, 1313 hours – Officers responded to Parking Lot H on a report of a fight in progress.  Officers found an employee and a student arguing over a parking space.  The student was parked illegally.  It was determined that the incident was not criminal and the student was referred to the Dean of Students – Officer Sanchez reporting.

03/23, Ocean Campus, 1240 hours – A counter report was taken regarding a sexual battery near the 11 Phelan bookstore.  A student reported that she was groped by an unknown suspect on the night of 03/20/2007.  An SFPD Sex Crimes Inspector is assisting with the incident – Officer Smith reporting.  

03/22, Ocean Campus, 1330 hours – An officer on patrol spotted a heated argument between a male and female on Cloud Circle.  The officer broke up the argument and ran a criminal history check on both parties.  The male came back with a stay-away order from the female he was arguing with.  The male was detained.  The male was released after a phone call to the Santa Clara Sheriff’s Department showed the stay-away order was a computer error – Officer Edwards reporting.

03/22, Ocean Campus, 1102 hours – An officer on patrol spotted a vehicle with an unregistered disabled placard.  The officer asked the owner of the vehicle for the placard documentation.  The disabled placard was registered to another person.  The officer wrote the driver a ticket for misuse of a disabled placard – Officer Boyko reporting.

03/21, Ocean Campus, 1531 hours – Officers responded to Judson Avenue on a report of a theft from vehicle.  A student reported that someone broke her car window and stole several items from her vehicle.  Officer searched the area and recovered some of the student’s property – Officer Wendt reporting.

03/21, De Avila Campus, 1530 hours – An officer on patrol spotted new graffiti in a restroom – Officer Russo reporting  

03/21, Ocean Campus, 1253 hours – Officers responded to Smith Hall on a report of an unconscious person.  Officers found a conscious student.  The student told police she was in pain but okay.  The school nurse took the student to Student Health – Officer Milowe reporting.  

03/20, Ocean Campus, 0923 hours – A counter report was taken regarding a suspicious occurrence in the Rosenberg Library.  A suspicious subject was seen walking through the library.  The subject may be connected to several thefts that have occurred in the library – Officer Smith reporting.

03/19, Southeast Campus, 1815 hours – An officer responded to the parking lot on a report of a person breaking into a vehicle.  The officer found a vehicle with a broken window but there were no suspects in the area.  The officer advised the victim of the break-in.  The victim told the officer she was missing some change totaling three dollars – Officer Din reporting.

03/19, Ocean Campus, 1800 hours – Officers were dispatched to a report of a person spray painting graffiti by Batmale Hall.  Officers did not locate the suspect but found fresh graffiti.  A witness provided a good description of the suspect but still could not be located – Officer Flood reporting.

03/19, Ocean Campus, 1442 hours – An officer took a counter report of a theft in the Rosenberg Library.  A student said his wallet was stolen from his bag while it was left unattended – Officer Alfonso reporting.

03/18, Ocean Campus, 2043 hours – An Officer Stopped a vehicle on Ocean Avenue for running a red light.  The driver did not have a license.  The driver was issued a citation and his car was impounded – Officer Alfonso reporting.

03/16, Ocean Campus, 1255 hours – A Sergeant responded to Parking Lot A on a report of a man harassing women.  The suspect was located and turned out to be a student.  Since it could not be determined the student committed a crime, he was referred to the Dean of Students – Sergeant Seligsohn reporting.

03/15, Ocean Campus, 1348 hours – An officer was dispatched to Cloud Hall to assist a sick student.  The officer observed the student until a nurse arrived on scene.  The student was taken to Student Health for further observation – Officer Smith Reporting.

03/15, Ocean Campus, 1332 hours – Officers were dispatched to Batmale Hall on a report of a student having chest pain.  After the officer and the School Nurse arrived on scene, the student’s condition started to worsen.  Paramedics arrived a short time later and took the student to the hospital – Officer Edwards reporting.

03/15, Ocean Campus, 1232 hours – An officer took a counter report regarding a theft in the Rosenberg Library.  A student told police her purse was stolen from her backpack while she took a nap – Officer Boyko reporting.

03/15, Ocean Campus, 1138 hours – An officer was dispatched to Visual Arts regarding a bicycle blocking a classroom.  The officer attempted to remove the bicycle but was dispatched to investigate a theft.  Later, the officer returned and the bicycle was gone – Officer Smith reporting.

03/15, Ocean Campus, 0815 hours, A police officer stopped a vehicle for traveling the wrong way on Marston Road.  The driver of the vehicle was did not have a driver’s license.  The driver of the vehicle also had a “no bail” warrant out of Monterrey County.  The driver was booked at County Jail and his car was impounded – Officer Sanchez reporting.

03/14, Ocean Campus, 1500 hours – An officer took a counter report regarding a battery that occurred on West Portal Avenue the day prior.  The victim told police she got into a verbal altercation with the suspect while waiting in line.  The suspect allegedly spit in the victim’s face and left – Officer Wendt reporting.

03/14, Ocean Campus, 1435 hours – An officer was flagged down by a student in the Reservoir parking lot regarding a hit and run accident.  The student told police her vehicle was hit sometime during the day by and unknown vehicle – Officer Wendt reporting.

03/14, Ocean Campus, 1024 hours – An officer on patrol checked an unregistered disable placard.  The check showed the placard was revoked.  The officer was in the process of towing the vehicle when the owner showed up.  After it was confirmed that the person was the owner of the vehicle, the placard was confiscated and the officer issued her a citation for using a revoked disabled placard – Officer Smith reporting.

03/13, Ocean Campus, 1955 hours – An officer stopped a vehicle on Phelan Avenue for not having taillights.  The driver of the vehicle was never issued a license.  The driver was issued a citation and his car was impounded – Officer Alfonso reporting. 

03/13, Ocean Avenue, 0940 hours – An officer on patrol spotted a student using an unregistered disabled placard in parking lot D.  The officer made contact with the student and requested proper documentation for her placard.  A check of the placard showed the placard was registered to another person.  The placard was confiscated and the student was issued a citation for using a disabled placard not registered to her – Officer Milowe reporting.

03/13, Ocean Avenue, 0910 hours – An officer on patrol spotted a student using an unregistered disabled placard on the West Road.  The officer made contact with the student and requested proper documentation for her placard.  A check of the placard showed the placard was registered to another person.  The placard was confiscated and the student was issued a citation for using a disabled placard not registered to her – Officer Milowe reporting.

03/12, Ocean Avenue, 1430 hours – An officer assisted a student with a counter report about a theft in Rosenberg Library.  The student said he left his laptop computer to get a drink of water and when he returned his computer was missing – Officer Hector reporting.

03/12, Ocean Avenue, 1330 hours – An officer stopped a vehicle on Cloud Circle for excessively loud music.  The driver of the vehicle had a suspended license.  A records check on the driver showed he had a fraud warrant for $10,000 out of San Mateo County.  The driver was taken to the county jail and his vehicle was impounded – Officer Milowe reporting.

03/10, Ocean Campus, 1415 hours – Officers responded to Ocean Avenue and Phelan Avenue on a report dog bite incident.  The owner of the dog and the victim were in a loud verbal altercation.  Officer arrived and calmed the situation.  The owner of the dog was walking her dog on-leash when it lunged and bit a passerby.  The victim refused any medical or police action – Officer Alfonso reporting.

03/09, Ocean Campus, 1556 hours – Officers responded to assist the San Francisco Fire Department at Ocean Avenue and Phelan Avenue regarding a fight involving a large crowd of juveniles.  Officers detained one combatant upon arrival.  Several SFPD units also arrived to assist with the large crowd.  Several more juveniles were detained and all were taken to SFPD’s Taravel Station for further investigation – Officer Oshita SFPD reporting.

03/09, Ocean Campus, 1210 hours – Officers responded to Phelan Avenue and Judson Street on a report of a battery.  A student reported that she was involved in a road rage incident on Staples Street.  The student said the driver behind her kept yelling at her to move, got next to her, threw something, then spit in her face – Officer Wendt reporting.

03/09, Southeast Campus, 1135 hours – An officer took a counter report regarding a lost cellular phone – Officer Lopez reporting.

03/09, Ocean Campus, 0926 hours – An officer took a counter report regarding a theft of a purse in Batmale Hall.  A student reported her purse was stolen from her unattended backpack – Officer Wendt reporting.

03/05, Ocean Campus, 2011 hours – Officers were dispatched to the North Gym on a theft report.  The student said that she left her backpack unattended for a while and it was missing when she returned – Officer Wong reporting.

03/05, Ocean Campus, 0920 hours – An officer conducted a traffic stop on a car that ran a red light on Phelan Avenue.  The driver was issued citation.  Immediately following the traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle accelerated rapidly and screeched his tires.  The driver was traveling so fast that he narrowly missing hitting a parked police vehicle.  The driver was stopped a second time and issued a misdemeanor citation for reckless driving.  The driver’s vehicle was also impounded – Officer Milowe reporting.

03/04, Ocean Campus, 1450 hours – An officer was dispatched to the North Gym on a report of a locker tampering – Officer Sanchez reporting.

03/04, Ocean Campus, 0900 hours – An officer responded to a report of a suspicious person sleeping in a classroom in Cloud Hall.  The suspect was known to the officer from several previous incidents.  The officer conducted a probation search on the suspect and found a large razor knife as well as a bag of marijuana.  The suspect was taken to County Jail and booked for trespassing, possession of a knife on campus and possession of marijuana – Officer Milowe reporting.

03/03, Mission Campus, 1020 hours – An officer smelled smoke at the Print Shop.  No fire was found and the odor disappeared before he could locate a source – Officer Gamarra reporting.

03/02, Ocean Campus, 1913 hours – Officers responded to a report of a stabbing in front of the Science Building.  Officers arrived on scene to find a student with his face slashed and a stab wound to his chest.  The suspect already left the area.  Witnesses said two students were fighting and one went to a nearby vehicle and got a knife.  The student with the knife slashed and stabbed the other student then fled the area.  The victim of the stabbing was taken to the hospital by paramedics.  The suspect turned himself in to SFPD a few hours later.  The case was turned over to a San Francisco Police Department Inspector for investigation - Officer Johnson reporting.

03/02, Chinatown/North Beach Campus, 1143 hours – An officer took a counter report of a theft from vehicle on Valparaiso Street.  An employee reported that her vehicle was broken into and her purse was stolen – Campus Control Aide Yasumoto reporting.  

03/01, Ocean Campus, 1930 hours – An officer took a counter report regarding a student who lost her wallet in the Rosenberg Library – Officer Ramirez reporting.

03/01, Ocean Campus, 1608 hours – Officers were dispatched to the Creative Arts regarding a student who was vandalizing a bathroom.  Thanks to witness descriptions, officers located the student and detained him.  The student was issued a citation for multiple violations of the penal code and released – Officer Wong reporting.

03/01, Ocean Campus 1400 hours – An officer was dispatched to the Student Union on a report of a suspicious note.  An employee reported that the note was left under an office door – Officer Smith reporting.

03/01, Ocean Campus, 1220 hours – An officer took a counter report regarding a theft in the South Gym.  A student told police someone stole his shoes while he was changing – Officer Ngoi reporting.

03/01, Southeast Campus, 1140 hours – An officer was dispatched to the parking lot to assist a person reporting a theft from a parked car – Officer Boyko reporting.

03/01, Ocean Campus, 1110 hours – An officer took a counter report regarding a theft in the Science Building.  A student reported that someone stole her debit card from her unattended backpack.  The suspect also used the card to withdraw money from the student’s bank account – Officer Ngoi reporting. 

03/01, Ocean Campus, 0936 hours – Officers were dispatched to Cloud Hall on a report of a fallen person.  The student was taken to the Student Health Center for further evaluation – Officer Ngoi reporting.

03/01, Ocean Campus, 0916 hours – Officers were dispatched to a report of a non-student on campus that was allegedly stalking a college employee.  The subject was located by police and admonished for trespassing.  The subject was escorted off campus – Officer Edwards reporting.
