January 2007

01/31, Southeast Campus, 2020 hours – An officer on foot patrol noticed a car stop next to him on Oakdale Avenue.  The driver of the car started yelling at a woman on the sidewalk. The officer stopped the driver to inquire about the situation.  The driver of the vehicle had a suspended license.  The driver was issued a citation and his vehicle was impounded – Officer Din reporting.

01/31, Ocean Campus, 1139 hours – A Sergeant on patrol observed a driver park his car on Cloud Circle and display a disabled placard.  The Sergeant noted that there was no medical parking permit on the car.  A search found the placard belonged to a parent who was not on campus.  The placard was confiscated for misuse and the driver was issued a citation – Sergeant Seligsohn reporting.

01/31, Ocean Campus, 1125 hours – A police officer stopped a vehicle for driving the wrong way on Marston Road.  The Driver had a suspended license.  The driver was issued a citation and his vehicle impounded – Officer Smith reporting.

01/30, Ocean Campus, 1755 hours – An officer was dispatched to Statler Wing to assist a student who cut herself.  The student refused medical treatment but advised that she will go to the hospital later – Officer Flood reporting.

01/30, Ocean Campus, 1035 hours – An officer was dispatched to Smith Hall to assist with a student who was ill.  The nurse released the student to his wife after evaluating him and was found to be okay to go home – Officer Smith reporting.

01/29, Mission Campus, 1030 hours – An officer observed graffiti on the walls of the 3rd floor men’s bathroom – Officer Gamarra reporting.

01/29, De Avila Campus, 1800 hours – An officer was dispatched to the 3rd floor regarding a theft.  An employee reported that her purse was stolen from a locked classroom – Officer Ramirez reporting.

01/29, Ocean Campus, 1553 hours – An officer assisted a student with a counter report.  A student reported that his books were stolen while he attended gym class – Officer Hector reporting.

01/29, Ocean Campus, 1050 hours – A bicycle officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a playing extremely loud music in parking lot A.  The driver of the vehicle revved his motor and started forward at the bicycle officer.  A back-up officer saw what was happening and tried to reach into the driver’s window and turn off the vehicle giving the bicycle officer time to move out of danger.  The driver continued forward catching the back-up officer’s arm in the steering wheel.  The bicycle officer went to assist the back-up officer and was caught in the window of the vehicle.  Both officers were dragged across the parking lot before they could release themselves.  Both officers were injured in the incident.  The suspect managed to elude police but was identified and arrested on multiple charges – Officer Milowe reporting.  

01/28, Ocean Campus, 1405 hours – An officer stopped a vehicle after the driver failed to stop at a stop sign on Judson Avenue and Gennessee Street.  The vehicle was impounded and the driver was issued a citation, after it was determined that he had a suspended driver’s license – Officer Milowe reporting 

01/26, Ocean Campus, 1530 hours – Officers were dispatched to Conlan Hall regarding a student acting erratic.  The student claimed to have a medical condition and was taken to a nearby fire station to be checked by paramedics.  The student began to threaten the fire fighters and paramedics with violence and death.  When an officer tried to intervene, the student grabbed the officer by the throat.  Police and fire personnel managed to quickly subdue the student.  The student was taken to the hospital and checked by a physician.  After the student was released from the hospital he was taken to county jail and booked for battery on a police officer, threats and resisting arrest – Officer Borrego reporting.

01/26, Ocean Campus, 1141 hours – Officers were dispatched to the tennis courts to assist a student with a sprained ankle – Officer Sanchez reporting.

01/25, De Avila Campus, 1450 hours – An officer assisted a student who became ill while in class.  The student refused medical attention and left on his own – Officer Lim reporting.

01/25, Ocean Campus, 1318 hours – A counter report was taken regarding a battery.  A student said she was pushed – Officer Smith reporting.

01/24, Ocean Campus, 1130 hours – An officer assisted a student with a counter report about a hit & run accident in the Reservoir involving her parked car – Officer Edwards reporting.

01/23, Mission Campus, 1015 hours – An officer took a counter report regarding a theft.  A student reported his mountain bike was stolen from in front of the building – Officer Gamarra reporting.

01/22, Ocean Campus, 1745 hours – A police officer pulled a car over for not stopping for a pedestrian on Ocean Avenue.  It was later determined that the driver had a suspended license.  The driver was issued a citation and his vehicle was impounded – Officer Edwards reporting.

01/22, Ocean Campus, 1745 hours - An officer stopped a vehicle for failing to yield to a pedestrian on Phelan Avenue.  The driver of the vehicle had a suspended license.  The driver was issued a citation and his vehicle was impounded - Officer Edwards reporting.

01/22, Ocean Campus, 1430 hours – An officer took a counter report regarding a vehicle break-in.  A City College employee reported that his vehicle was broken into while it was parked on Fell Street – Officer Hector reporting.

01/22, Ocean Campus, 1230 hours – An officer on foot patrol assisted a student that was disoriented near Batmale Hall.  The officer took the student to the Student Health Center.  When the student’s condition did not improve, paramedics were called and she was transported to the hospital  – Officer Sanchez reporting.

01/20, Ocean Campus, 1006 hours – An officer was dispatched to Conlan Hall to assist testing personnel with the removal of a disruptive student from campus – Officer Milowe reporting.

01/19, Ocean Campus, 1318 hours – Officers were advised by an SFPD Domestic Violence Inspector that there was a domestic violence suspect was on campus.  Officers located the suspect in Statler Wing attending class and arrested him.  The suspect was booked at County Jail on two counts of domestic violence and terrorist threats – Officer Boyko reporting.

01/19, Ocean Campus, 0959 hours – An officer was dispatched to the Rosenberg library on a report of a suspicious subject sleeping in a restroom.  The officer located the subject in the restroom, identified him and ran a criminal history check.  The subject had a traffic warrant for his arrest and was sex offender.  After it was determined the subject had not registered as a sex offender, he was arrested.  The subject was taken to County Jail and booked on the warrant and failing to register as a sex offender – Officer Smith reporting.

01/18, Ocean Campus, 1630 hours – An officer took a counter report regarding a theft at the Bookstore.  A student reported her iPod was stolen from the bookstore bag check area – Officer Burton-Hector reporting.

01/18, Ocean Campus, 1500 hours – An officer took a counter report regarding a theft in the Rosenberg Library.  A student said he left his bag unattended for a half an hour in the Learning Assistance Center and when he returned several things were missing from his bag – Officer Hakes reporting.

01/18, Ocean Campus, 1415 hours – An officer took a counter report regarding a fight in Batmale Hall.  The student said the fight took place on 01/17/07 – Officer Burton-Hector reporting.

01/18, Ocean Campus, 1243 hours – Several officers responded to Batmale Hall on a report of a fight in progress.  The fight was finished prior to officers arriving but two students involved in the incident were located.  The incident was determined to be non-criminal but both students were referred to the Dean of Students for discipline – Officer Edwards reporting.

01/18, Ocean Campus, 1200 hours – An officer was notified by SFPD units patrolling campus that they detained two students suspected of smoking marijuana.  The two students were referred to the Dean of Students for discipline – Officer Sanchez reporting.

01/18, Ocean Campus, 0146 hours – An officer on patrol of the College District witnessed two cars doing doughnuts and racing in the area of Mission and 11th Streets.  While the officer radioed SFPD for additional units, several gunshots were heard coming from one of the vehicles.  SFPD units arrived quickly and both vehicles were stopped.  The driver of the first vehicle was arrested for driving under the influence and the passenger was arrested for possession of a concealed weapon and discharging a firearm.  Both suspects were booked at County Jail.  The driver of the second vehicle was issued a citation for reckless driving and his vehicle was impounded – Officer Fiscal reporting.

01/17, Ocean Campus, 1325 hours – An officer on patrol was flagged down regarding fire on the second floor of the Student Health Center.  The officer called for a patrol car with a fire extinguisher to put out a small trashcan fire.  The fire was extinguished without incident – Officer Boyko reporting.

01/17, District Office, 1130 hours – An officer was dispatched to a report of a hit and run accident.  An employee reported that a silver Mercedes struck his vehicle and drove away – Officer Torres reporting.

01/16, Ocean Campus, 1514 hours – An officer was dispatched to the Rosenberg Library to assist a student in an overturned wheelchair lying on the ground and bleeding from the head.  The responding officer called for an ambulance and school nurse.  The student was treated by paramedics but refused to go to the hospital – Officer Flood reporting.

01/15, Ocean Campus, 1735 hours – An officer stopped a vehicle in the Reservoir for speeding.  The driver had a suspended license.  The driver was issued a citation and his vehicle was impounded – Officer Flood reporting.

01/15, Ocean Campus, 0830 hours - An officer on patrol spotted new graffiti on the 200 series Bungalows – Officer Milowe reporting.

01/13, Ocean Campus, 0730 hours – An officer on patrol spotted new graffiti on a construction fence adjacent Judson Avenue – Officer Milowe reporting.

01/09, Ocean Campus, 0730 hours – An officer on patrol observed graffiti on a wall behind the Reservoir Parking Lot – Officer Milowe reporting.

01/08, Ocean Campus, 1613 hours – An officer stopped a truck in the Reservoir for unsafe driving.  The driver of the vehicle was an unlicensed minor.  The driver was issued a citation and released to her mother.  The vehicle was impounded – Officer Flood reporting.

01/08, Ocean Campus, 1412 hours – A Sergeant on patrol was flagged down regarding a fight in progress on Ocean Avenue in front of Beep’s Burgers.  Two people were found fighting and separated.  Both combatants were released when both parties refused to press charges – Sergeant Seligsohn reporting.

01/08, Ocean Campus, 1340 hours – An officer stopped a vehicle for making an illegal left turn on Ocean Avenue and Harold Street.  The driver of the vehicle had a suspended license.  The officer issued the driver a citation and impounded the vehicle – Officer Milowe reporting.

01/06, Ocean Campus, 1400 hours – An officer stopped a vehicle for making an illegal u-turn on Ocean Avenue.  The driver was never issued a driver’s license and lied to the officer about his identity.  After further investigation the driver was identified.  The driver had a $25,000 warrant for domestic violence and a second warrant for driving without a license.  The driver also had a court order to stay away from a female passenger in the vehicle.  The driver of the vehicle was booked at County Jail for his outstanding warrants, violating a court order, lying to a police officer and driving without a license – Officer Milowe reporting.

01/06, Ocean Campus, 0716 hours – Officers were dispatched to the Reservoir regarding graffiti.  There was fresh graffiti painted in the Reservoir – Officer Sanchez reporting.

01/03, Ocean Campus, 1817 hours – An officer was dispatched to check on a possible theft of a computer near the 300 Bungalows.  A suspect was located and detained near Riordan High School carrying a computer.  After further investigation, the computer was recovered and the suspect was released with a trespassing admonishment – Officer Flood reporting.

01/03, Ocean Campus, 0900 hours – An officer on patrol observed new graffiti as well as empty spray paint cans in the Reservoir parking lot – Officer Edwards reporting. 

01/02, Ocean Campus, 0855 hours – An officer stopped a vehicle after he saw it run a stop sign on Gennessee and Foerster.  The driver had an expired license along with a warrant.  The driver was booked at County Jail and his vehicle was impounded – Officer Smith reportin
