Richard Gordon is a part-time instructor at City College of San Francisco, Stanford University Continuing Studies and other bay area colleges.

He is the author of the Meta Photographs, One More for the Road, and many limited edition hand made artist's books. His works are in the permanent collections of SFMOMA, The Getty, Corcoran Gallery of American Art, Rosenwald Rare Book Collecton,
L.O.C., Musem of Fine Arts Houston, and others. In addition, he wrote the Lewis Hine biography for The Routledge Encyclopedia of 20th Century Photography.

In 1982, Richard recieved a N.E.A. Fellowship.
