Gillian Spragens is a part-time instructor who teaches PHOT86 Mixed Media and the Photographic Image.  This class encourages students to experiment with the straight image to find other forms of expression.  Gillian’s work perpetuates this philosophy. Her current work investigates the nature of an artist’s daily practice and rituals, over a defined period of time and space.   She has taught in the Bay Area at CCSF, SFAI, CCA and in Portland Oregon at Lewis and Clark College and has given many workshops in many obscure places in the world.

Gillian has exhibited most recently at Gallery114, Portland Institute of Contemporary Art and the Portland Art Museum Portland, OR. She has been artist in residence at Kala Institute. Berkeley, Hospitalfield House, Scotland, Lademeon Kunstnerverksteder, Norway.  Her work is part of collections in South America and Europe.
