For the first time since the final game of the 1998 season, City College of San Francisco has lost.
Foothill took advantage of four turnovers by the Rams to pull off a 20-13 upset Saturday in Los Altos Hills.
The Rams (6-1) had won a national junior college football record of 42 consecutive games prior to Saturday's loss.
CCSF's Tim Brown gained 155 yards on 27 carries and scored both of the Rams' touchdowns. His first TD gave the Rams a 6-0 lead in the first quarter.
The Owls (5-2) scored the next 20 points, with quarterback Chris Bolding connecting with Jason Girley (15 yards) and Lee McLaughlin (14 yards) for touchdowns.
CCSF outgained the Owls 320 yards to 161, but those four turnovers (three fumbles and one interception) proved to be the difference.
The Rams' previous loss had come in the '98 state title game against Palomar. CCSF has won three state titles since then.
