Study Russian in St. Petersburg this summer! Listen to Professor Hanson discuss the summer program.
CCSF Russian Instructor Krista Hanson will be conducting a 4-week study tour to St. Petersburg. Students will live with Russian families and learn/improve their Russian language skills at the Rossika Educational Methodology Center. The application deadline is February 29, 2008. Are you hungry for language practice? Do you like meeting like-minded people who are interested in learning the same language you are? Then check out the World Affairs Counsel-hosted "Language Dinners"; These are hosted through its “Young Professionals International Forum,” with language learners “getting together for the purpose of eating delicious food, spiced with good talk in the local language” in restaurants around San Francisco. Languages include Mandarin, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish (to name the languages taught at CCSF, it also hosts dinners for Farsi, Polish, Portuguese and Romanian learners.) Are you interested in learning a less commonly taught language such as Arabic, Greek, Korean, Thai or Vietnamese? CCSF offers conversation classes in all of these, as well as French, Spanish, and Italian through Continuing Education, with classes beginning in February. Online Italian 1A, Chinese 1A, Spanish 1A and 1B, and French 1A (French 1A is only offered in the Fall semester) are offered by the CCSF Foreign Languages Department. See the CCSF Distance Learning On-Line page to find out if learning online is right for you.
  • Italian 1A, Chinese 1A, Spanish 1A, and French 1A are all 3 unit courses. Earn 3 units of college credit on-line.

CCSF Online Language Lab

Online audio materials can be found at the CCSF Online Language Lab. With a user name and password from your instructor you can listen to audio materials on the web (Not all materials are available. Check with your instructor or the Language Center.) You'll need an MP3 player on your computer to access these materials. You can also access these files in the drop-in computer section in the Language Center (Rosenberg 205).
