We have
materials for American Sign Language, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese),
French, German, Italian, Japanese, Pilipino, Russian, Spanish, and Modern
Greek (non-credit).
What
about English as a Second Language (ESL)?
Do
I need to be enrolled in a language class to use the Language Center?
What
identification do I need to use the Language Center?

To use
our tapes, computers, or other media, you need to have a current CCSF
ID card. To use a DVD, CD-ROM, and some videos you need to provide a picture
ID in addition to your CCSF ID.
Can
I eat or drink in the lab? What about chewing gum?
Is
cell phone use permitted?
Can
I have audio materials duplicated onto cassette tape for personal use?

It depends
on the copyright. Please stop by or call us about the tapes for your specific
course. If permissible, you provide the tapes. There is a small duplication
fee (payable by Vend Card) due at the time you place your order. Please
allow three working days for tape duplication. Additional information

Can
I use my own materials or equipment in the Language Center?

I allowed to work with a partner or do group work in the Language Center?

I get a tutor for my language class in the Language Center?

Tutoring
is available for most languages through the Learning
Assistance Center (R-207) across the hall from the Language Center.
