Textbook Purchase and Buyback Information
Textbooks
for credit courses, along with supplemental materials
such as workbooks, lab manuals, CDs and DVDs (where provided
by the publisher), are available at the Ocean
Campus bookstore. The Downtown
Campus bookstore and the Castro-Everett
Campus (for the first two weeks only) also stock some of the textbooks.
Check first to confirm availability.
New textbooks (or used, if available) may be reserved online. Students can also resell their textbooks through the buyback program. As much as one-half the original price is paid for books
sold in the last two weeks of a semester, though the bookstore buys
back textbooks throughout the semester, as well.
Some
foreign language textbooks are on reserve at the Rosenberg
Library and Learning Resource Center (check the online catalog for availability), while the Student Activities Office offers a book
loan program for low-income students. Additionally, www.amazon.com
carries new and used textbooks and sites such as campusbooks.com, half.com and bestbookbuys.com let you compare prices from many online stores.
